Today the struggling Hurricanes send their leading scorer Blake Wheeler to the San Jose Sharks for winger Mats Zuccarello. Wheeler whom has 35 points for the 'Canes and twice as many goals (20) as his next teammate finally moves from Carolina after being on the trade block with Shea Weber or most of the season.

Zuccarello Joins the 'Canes after struggling much of the season with the Sharks and Devils will look to rekindle his scoring ways and joins the falling Hurricanes as they look to slow down their descent. The 'Canes have been scouting the Sharks for some time with an inside source on their bench for the last couple weeks. Zuccarello 's leadership and skillset will be a huge addition to the lineup and future

Both players look to be signing huge GRID deals in the offseason if they can cement a place in their team's lineups

Wheeler is great. The sim loves him. Solid addition to San Jose.
Zuccarello is no slouch. Decent return when you factor in the picks. Islanders will be horrible again next year so that’s a nice pick for Carolina.

Had to pay to get the upgrade. Wheeler is good in the sim and been very impressive in the NHL. Happy to add Wheeler and hope he can pick this team up to pick up some late season wins!

Zucc has been traveling quite a bit since he left the Oil a few months ago. Like this trade for both teams

There was a lot of feer, that moving pretty much the only player that was scoring would take us out of the playoff race. But the truth is I aquried Wheeler to move him in a deal such as this and I had to put my current position out of the picture.

Wheeler is a NHL stud right now, but I'm not a quick enough GM to build around him and I'm trying hard to improve the asset pool of the franchise
