Depends on what you mean as ideal? the Ritz Carlton is about block away from the arena but is about $600 a night, the Lorenzo Hotel is nice and close, about $200 I think, the Canvas Hotel is great for $150 and only a $20 cab ride away, I'm going to try to get away from work to attend games 3 and 4 but I have a buddy who lives in Dove Park so I don't have to worry about a place to stay.

The pressure is all on the Flames which I don't like, but we got Sutter.

At -8, the Stars are the only team with a negative goal differential in the whole playoffs. They're 11th in the conference for goal differential.
Hopefully the Flames can give them a -8 differential in the first four playoff games too.

This should be a good series. Knowing Sutter he will make sure the players are not over-confident in this match-up. Throw out all the regular season stats.

Flames D much better suited to handle the big Dallas forwards this time around vs the bubble. Our size hopefully can neutralize the likes of Benn Hintz Robertson.
Nows the time for this core to show it was more coaching leadership then their ability to raise their game in crunch time. I'll gladly eat my words from the past if it means a long playoff run. Going to game 1 on tuesday, hopefully can get off to a good start.
My heart says Flames in 5, head says 6.

How many times have the Flames ever swept a team? Like once against LA?

The Stars seem like a great matchup, which means it will be a lot closer than it should be. Oettinger is a solid goalie, hope he doesn't go on a big heater. The Flames really need to keep that Dallas first line in check, they're very good. I'll say Flames in 7 because they just won't make it easy on us.

If they can't beat the stars, they don't deserve to be there.

Regardless of the season the team just had, no Flames' fan should EVER assume a round 1 opponent is no problem. We've been burned more than enough times over the past 30 years to know we are the very last team in the league that should ever look down on an opponent.
Now granted this season seems different than most. There is no Ward or GG behind the bench, and Sutter will without a doubt make sure they are ready. The players have clearly bought in and no major injuries.
But the Stars are one of those weird teams that seem to have a down season or 2, than have a great post season run, then a down season or 2, and rip it up in the post season after. Crazy fluctuations every season. Pavelski is also a Flames' killer his entire career and he's their player who makes me the most nervous.
Flames need their big guns to show up like they did all season long, the goalie to stand tall, and the D to be ready to hit hard and heavy. Until the Flames get over that 1st round hump, I will never ever stop worrying myself sick that the team will choke when it matters.

Exactly.. I don't see why so many Flames fans are so confident with this match up, or even if we played Nashville. We're so used to first round failures, we're almost like Leaf fans.

Those start times are just God awful.
Flames play a team in the Central Time Zone and the start times are all Pacific.
