Default Seattle - Almost Live - The (206)

Anyone remember Almost Live on KING in Seattle in the 1990s? Bill Nye got his start on this show. It was a comedy sketch show that aired right before SNL.

There seems to be a new show called The (206) - anyone seen that?

I used to watch the show all the time when I lived in BC in the early '90s. I noticed a few weeks ago they've been showing them again late on Saturday nights on KING again. I watched one and remembered half the punch lines to the jokes for that particular episode. I really enjoyed it back then and almost as much rewatching it today.

I'm John, and this is my report.

I remember that. There was an earlier period of that show too, that was somewhat less funny with Ross Schaefer (sp?). After John Keister it gained quite the following, in BC at least. I don't know if Alberta got their NBC feed from Seattle.

There were a lot of great skits from that show - Worst Girlfriend in the World, Mind Your Manners with Billy Quan, High Fivin' White Guys, Speed Walker, Cops (in random Seattle suburbs).

The local news just had a story about the man that wrote the screenplay for the Oscar nominated film "Nebraska". His name is Bob Nelson, aka "Psychic Bob" (and other characters) from Almost Live.
