The Sopranos - "Pine Barrens"

That greatness of that episode is that it can stand alone on its own, and would draw in somebody with no prior knowledge of the Sopranos universe.

True Detective (Season 1): Who Goes There

That final gunfight scene with the single camera tracking was on point!

The hot-dog-eating contest is hilarious.

Community - the one where they play dungeons and dragons for the entire episode.

e: looked it up, "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons"

Troy: Shouldn’t there be a board, or pieces or something to Jenga?

Yes, and the "Modern Warfare" episode as well.

With all the sexual harassment stuff going on, I'd like to offer up the episode of Late Show With David Letterman when he admitted to his extramarital affair with a staffer and provided details of the extortion plot against him. That was the most compelling 10 minutes of television I've ever witnessed, mostly because it came on so unexpected. Letterman had scooped all the newspapers and tabloids and internet gossip sites. And the audience clearly had no idea what was going on as there was quite a bit of nervous titter from the crowd during the confession.

Bunch of shows that have so many good episodes it is tough to pick.

Simpsons. Too many to count. You Only Move Twice is my fave though.

South Park. Randy and his huge balls, Cartman gets Tourette's, Cartman freezes himself and the atheist otters, imaginationland, randy becomes an alcoholic and the bleeding Mary statue.

Family Guy. Brian gets addicted to cocaine, the Star Wars episodes.

Sopranos. S2 finale when tony finally figures out who the rat is.

Mad Men. The riding lawnmower episode.

Rome. I can't pick just one. The episode where Vorenus is the head of the mob group and holds the meeting where he loses his #### and smashes the idol and scares all the captains. The one where Pullo's wife dies.

Six Feet Under. The finale.

Dexter. S4. Hello Dexter Morgan. S2 finale when crazy Lela finds Doakes locked up andturns crazy. His reaction was priceless.

Band of Brothers. D-Day episode 2. Finding the concentration camp, episode 9 I think.

GoT. S6 finale when cersei blows #### up. That first 20 minutes was perfection.

Rick and Morty : the Ricklantis Mixup.

Any episode that elevates a series, especially when it comes out of nowhere. R&M has been consistently funny, but here lands a social commentary on marginalization that was just excellent.

WKRP : Baseball

One of my favorite, most consistent shows. Episodes like 'Turkeys Away' stand the test of time, but 'Baseball' had such a human arc with Les Nessman, it transcended even an imperfect episode. From this point on, in the series, everyone cheered for Les.

This show was great in allowing every character to have these moments. Every character was given a moment to bare their soul, and make the series richer, over the course of the run.

I THINK season 4 of Dexter may have been the best season of TV. The last episode was brilliant and unexpected.

I mean, if you're going to choose a Seinfeld episode you have to pick The Contest.

I can (and do) re-watch that opening scene over and over again. It was perfect, the tension, the buildup, the simple piano score. I get goosebumps just thinking about it.

I loved that episode.

It was so great on a lot of different levels.

Les standing out in the field praying "Please god don't hit the ball to me" I'm sure every awkward kid can relate to that.

the whole how personal a fun game got between the two rivals.

Also they had that drunk guy, I think his name was Bucky, and he basically made the drunk guy amazing catch without knowing it. That cracked me up.

WKRP was amazing for its time.

I loved the Turkey Episode

The one where Mamma Carlson sent in a efficiency expert and the crew completely duped him with Venus pulling a knife on Johnny.

When the Big Guy ran for city council and then decided to throw the race when he angrily accused the incumbent of being an alcoholic.

One of the most touching episodes was based around the Who Concert in Cincinnati which spelled the end of festival seating. The ending to that episode was tear inducing.

Oh and the episode where they promoted the concert with the band "Scum of the Earth"
