History tends to show teams that make massive come backs to claw their way back into the playoffs tend to lose in the first round, my guess is they go into the payoffs utterly gassed, they have no real D or goalkeeping they are just relying on a first line that the refs aint going to protect as they have done in the season

The Blue Jackets have made the second round once in their history.

Don't even get me started on the Coyotes.
The Leafs have never won 3 rounds...ever

They've also been extremely lucky when it comes to injuries. Those fortunes may change again in the playoffs. Draisitl was banged up last season, and his play tapered off. Can those top three stay healthy playing 25+ minutes in every single playoff game?

They did once in the early days of the league, but it hardly counts, because none of those series were best-of-7. In 1932, they beat Chicago in a two-game, total-goals series, then did the same to the Montreal Maroons. In those simple times, that was enough to get you to the Stanley Cup finals. And even the finals were only best-of-5.

What I rather like is that the Maple Leafs are the only team that has (a) been in the league ever since the 1967 expansion, and (b) never made the finals in all that time. Every other Original Six club, and every surviving expansion team from 1967, has won at least one championship since then.

Watched some of the Canucks game highlights and while they have a great record, especially with how they were expected to perform, they still sort of seem like they are missing something. They just are lacking that game breaking type of player that Colorado has. When MacKinnon was on the ice he was physically dominating and he isn't even their best player. In the third period they just took the game over as is often the case when there is a late goal. That said the penalty to go up on a 5-3 was a really weak call.

The preds are red hot, I hope they don't burn out before the playoffs.

I was agreeing heartily with your sentiment, and pointing out how soft the playoffs had to be for the Leafs to even technically win three rounds.

All good?
