Icon38 Tortorella Kicked Out and Refuses to Leave: Suspended 2 Games & Fined $50k

I didn't see this until today but I think it's funny. What are they going to do, call the police?

He'll probably be in trouble with the league.

Would the officials resort to Philly forfeiting the game if he didn't leave? A pretty drastic move that you'd think they'd have to involve the league office. Or is there something already in the rule book dealing with this?

What's the story with the cast? Who did he punch out?

I think they ended up getting absolutely pounded too, right? I'm in the camp that likes Torts, but acknowledge he isn't for most NHL players.

they'd send Bob Hartley to talk things over.

LOL at the ex-players in the suite laughing. Torts has been a gift to the NHL. The league badly needs more coaches and players with personality.

I think Torts is so full of himself he’s naive to the disrespectful precedent this makes. If I’m the NHL I make an example of him and show they have the refs backs.

Screw them. The officials are the worst part of the NHL.

I'm with Torts on this one, terrible call. Not a shock that it was Wes McCauley. He's had a few weak coach ejections, was probably annoyed that he wasn't the centre of attention

if i was the official i'd give him a bench minor for delay of game or whatever.
if he still doesn't go you skate over and say "you've got 10 seconds to go or i'll give you another bench minor" and so on. how long do you want your team to be down 5-on-3?

i could see that tactic not really being effective late in the game, but this incident happened in the first period... do you want to make your team short handed for half the game, just keep on yapping.

I thought about that, it would be funny.

Delay of Game: Puck over glass
Delay of Game: Challenge unsuccessful
Delay of Game: Dislodging the net
Delay of Game: Fans throwing trash on the ice

Delay of Game: Coach will not leave after being kicked out

The rules say anybody who's been ejected from the game (player, coach, any other off-ice personnel) has to do so immediately, and any violation is to be reported to the commissioner.

Any violation of the rules can be punished by forfeit, but the decision to call the game by forfeit comes from the commissioner's office.

Game 4?

Or do you mean the missed call on the GWG?
