So long as we avoid any more pesky winning streaks, we’ll be fine.

Probably not popular opinion but watching the Tkachuk interview really makes it feel like he could of led this team to great things. Too bad the dinosaurs couldn't agree.

Tkachuk didn't want to be here any longer than he had to. If there's a dinosaur that can give you the ability to play golf and wear flip-flops outside in an Alberta winter, I'd like to hear about it.

I think we lost him after the Giordano thing. What a ridiculous thing to do to Tkachuk.

Like telling Popisil to stop hitting.

But he's rising fast, he was late 20's 4 months ago, he's one of younger players in the draft and some GM's will see him as another Jarome and possibly even a bigger one.

I'm starting to think he'll be the 3rd or 4th forward drafted now.

Edit: 2 more goals tonight giving him 45 in 59 games

Yeah, I think Tij gets drafted in the top 10. Trajectory means a lot and he has been moving up for quite a while. I would not be surprised to see him go as high as 6th.

They should’ve traded Gio after that.

Matt Tkachuk was everything they ever claimed to want in a hockey player, and when he actually played like that, his teammates (and Norris trophy winning captain) tell him to tone it down.

Love Gio. Great player. Top-2 Flames D of all time.

Wrong on Tkachuk.

If Tij is even 70% the player his old man was, that’s a 900 point player.

How many 900 point players do we think are in this draft?

Sharangovich, Mangiapane and Kuzmenko all become UFA next year. Obviously should try to re-sign Sharky, but if you can't, he should have a good market at next year's deadline. Mangiapane is an obvious trade candidate in the summer, Kuz might have value as a rental at the deadline.

And then there's the goalie situation. Markstrom already had a market this season, he'll surely have one in the summer too. If not, Vladar is a UFA in 25 and could be moved.

So, there's options. Not all prime assets, but still.

Last nights game realy emphasised the gulf between our team and top performing teams at the moment. In that second period the panthers went up a gear or two and we had no real answer. To be expected for auite a while but we are on the right track finally.

It grinds my gears seeing Bennett and chucky doing so well there, when they could have led the flames to better times.
