Such an amazing analogy to me.
Jagr was born 8 months before The Atlanta Flames played their first game.

I remember watching the HBO NHL 24/7 when Jagr was with Philadelphia. In one of the games with players wearing mic's, someone from the other team tried to chirp Jagr and he just laughed it off... Hartnell didn't laugh it off though... he went after the guy saying something like "Show some class! That's a hall of gamer!"

Could totally see Bennett being like that... raging on guys for doing something to Jagr... it will bring out the best in him. We've already seen how he gets when protecting Johnny. He activates beast mode for the rest of the game.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

Default Jaromir "Fricking" Jagr - The Vault

Just think, if Patrick Sharp had decided to sign here on July 1st, we’re probably not sitting here today watching a living legend pull on a Flames jersey.

Everything happens for a reason, I guess.

Just as Andrea Holik ruled the world's tennis courts in the late 1980s, so the offensive trio of Jaromir Jagr, Robert Reichel and Robert Holik reigned over junior hockey, playing together in the 1990 World Junior Championships. After that tournament all three entered the NHL, but each headed to a different city: Reichel to Calgary, Jagr to Pittsburgh and Holik to Hartford.

The year after the Flames won the SC was the year Jagr entered the NHL - maybe we have been waiting for him all this time!

This is more about the legend of Jagr than about the Canucks or the other teams so this is thread I thought it belongs.

Jagr Admits to Scaring Off Canucks at the 1990 NHL Entry Draft

Quote:
“I found out years later that when he was interviewed by teams ahead of us, he told them all that he wasn’t coming over right away,” Patrick said at a team-sponsored golf event. “When we asked him that question, he said ‘I’ll be there tomorrow if you draft me.’ I think other teams backed off because of that. We were happy he was there. We were surprised he was there, definitely.” …The Canucks, worried that Jagr wouldn’t be coming to North America for years, drafted Petr Nedvěd with their pick. The forward would eventually join the Penguins and play alongside Jagr during the mid-1990s in an ironic twist.
Plus we need a little diversion waiting for the Markstrom trade to drop.

The pens should have rolled him into a 1 game contract and put him on the ice

How lucky are we to have had him here. Too bad he wasn't in better shape to start...
