Kuzmenko now has more goals as a Flame this year than Huberdeau does.

Looks like the Flames will be picking 8th or 9th.

Arizona could still keep up with them, especially if the Flames lose a 4 point game to them.

probably 7th-9th is where they'll be though.

Kuzmenko - 13 goals in 26 games as a Flame, 9 assists in the same time frame.

41 goal pace over 82 games and a 70 point pace. Not bad for a throw in.

I guess Savard isn’t the problem with the PP. Just needed the pouting Lindholm waiting for a pass replaced with the dynamic Kuzy making things happen.

Scary situation will be Flames getting 81 points and tied 3 or 4 ways with Sabres, NJD, and Coyoyes. That's 9th thru 11th!

Why are we assuming here that every other team loses all its remaining games?

When your favorite prospect’s name gets called in the draft, just be thankful that Andrei Kuzmenko is getting an extra $50k/year salary because of this game.

Yeah, the bum! How dare he do his job by scoring goals!

While you're at it, spare some hate for Wolf for making all those saves. This game could have been a 22-6 loss if he'd done what he was supposed to.

Yeah, yay. The win was so good for the Flames.

Maybe next year we can finish 17th!

Players don’t care about draft position. They get paid to play and do their jobs.

Not sure why people think they should just quit. If they quit we will get the same people complaining we have no heart and just quit.

This shouldn’t be surprising. Kuzmenko has scored 39 in a season - Huberdeau has never come close to that. He maxed at 30 with the Panthers.

The win changed nothing in the standings. They were 8th last before, they are 8th last now. The teams below them were already in tough to catch them, and they are in tough to catch any of the teams above them.

You're complaining about a scenario you made up yourself. And being sarcastic about a position that nobody is actually taking.

You’re delirious if you think Calgary Flames will ever be engraved on the Stanley Cup with “Andrei Kuzmenko” as a contributor.

But yeah, yay, let’s cheer for the Flames to get closer to 9th or 10th or 11th! Who wouldn’t want that? 16th overall next year must be the goal.

lol

Outside of instructing them to lose, which no one does I’m not sure what else you want? The team has been stripped of a bunch of talent. They have sucked since the deadline. No team no matter how bad goes winless. The players still get paid a lot and they usually want to win regardless of what management is doing.

Did I ever say or imply anything of the kind? No, I did not.

Whose goal? It isn't the team's. It certainly isn't mine. In fact, I don't have any goals for the team, because unlike a few crazycakes fans, I know I have no influence over anything the team does. I'm just here to watch hockey and yak about it afterwards.

I don't know how to break this to you, but the principal purpose of a hockey team is not to win the Stanley Cup. Only one team per year gets to do that.

The principal purpose of a hockey team is to entertain people. Kuzmenko is a highly entertaining hockey player.

Oh, I forgot. You hated him for political reasons before he ever became a Calgary Flame, so naturally you have to blame everything that happens or might happen on him personally.

Be that as it may, it's not any part of his job, or any player's job, to lose games on purpose. You're dumping on him for doing what he was hired to do.
