This video is the best explanation of a hip drop tackle I have seen. I have no problem with the rule, except for my general problem with the NFL, which is that 18 minutes of a 3 hour and 12 minute program is actual game play. This is only going to slow things down.
On a separate note creating more week day games takes away from the only thing that combats boredom during NFL games which is gambling on and following multiple games at once.
Caserio in the last couple weeks has turned 23rd overall this year and a 7th rder into Diggs, 2024 Vikings 2nd rder (42nd overall), 2025 BUF 5th rder & 2x2024 6th rders.
Nice bit of business.

This is a good year for WR needy teams so I assume they would be looking to pick one at 28 or possibly trade down if there's a receiver they really want. They will lost a good WR that's on the decline but gained some addition by subtraction as he's a diva and not a great team player.

Gabe Davis left too so the Bills need to add a couple of WRs now
We just watched the Chiefs go back-to-back with essentially two NFL quality WRs (JuJu in 22, Rice in 23) and a bunch of scrubs. Bills might be looking at that model and thinking that could work. I do think they'll draft someone, but they've also had some heavy attrition on defense so that might be the draft focus.

It's not really as serious as it looks. Like I said, they can kick the can down the road a bit via restructures. Restructuring Allen, Miller, Diggs, and White + cutting Douglas, Harty, and Hines would give them about $25M in cap space.
The problem is you then have 3 players in Miller, Diggs, and White who are over 30 and going to carry cap hits of $20M -$25M+ for the next three years after this one. Generally not a recipe for success.
Were I the GM, the offseason would probably look like this:
1. Restructure Allen
2. Trade Diggs for picks and then try to move up in the draft to grab a WR
3. Designate Von Miller a post-June 1st cut
4. Restructure White and extend Tarron Johnson
5. Cut Douglas, Hines, and Harty
All of those moves would probably get them to $10-$15M under the cap for this season, and give them over $55M in cap space to play with in 2025. They'd also likely be getting comp picks for guys like Davis, Hyde, Floyd, etc.
Look, everyone! I'm Brandone Beane! Well 3/5ths Brandon Beane I guess.
I'm also wondering if they're trying to see if Josh is really the type of guy who elevates the team around him. The way they restructured his contract, he only has this year and next year with remaining guaranteed salary. Is it possible they move on from him if he can't Mahomes the Bills to success in the next couple of seasons?

I'm a firm believer that without Reid, Mahomes isn't Mahoming mediocre supporting casts into champions. If the Bills and Chiefs swapped QB's my money would be on the Chiefs going further than the Bills.

I'd imagine the next two seasons probably decide both Allen and McDermott's fates.
You also kind of have to wonder about Allen's longevity with how hard he plays. He's unique in that he's a big guy, but he'd be bucking the trend of rushing QBs if he was able to play as effectively past 30.
Brady won multiple SBs with mediocre supporting casts. You just need great defense is all. In an ideal world of course you wouldn't want to reply on replacement level skill weapons, but elite QB + great D + mediocre weapons seems to be a winning formula.

I think the problem is we don't really know that Allen is an elite QB without Pro Bowl weapons.
