With Ryan Donato over in Korea scoring two goals to help Team USA win earlier today, it looks like Fox decided he needed to pick up the slack.
His first two goals of the season.

21 games without a goal. Hat trick in game 22. Crazy.
It was a 4-point game for Fox, with 3G and 1A.
It looks like they added an assist on the OT goal on Tuesday, so that's 7 points in his last two games after getting nothing in 5 games.

With 8 points in 3 games, including his first NCAA hat trick, it's not surprising that Fox was named ECAC player of the week.

Ryan Donato has now scored 5 goals in (less than) 5 games for Team USA at the Olympics. It will be interesting if there is any truth to the rumours that he'll be signing with the Bruins when he returns to North America.
It would be a big loss for Harvard (although, they've been doing well without him so far).
Harvard plays its final 2 regular season games this weekend. Not only will they be without their leading scorer, their coach (Ted Donato) is also in Korea, watching his son play.
-------
EDIT:
The US ended up losing their quarterfinal to the Czechs, so their Olympics are done. I suppose the Donatos could hop on a plane tomorrow and be back in Boston in time for Harvard's games this weekend. With flight times and jet lag, even if they do return right away, they'll probably be out of commission for the weekend.
I guess the Ryan Donato signing watch can begin.

Looks like the Donatos made it back in time for tonight's game after all.
This should also put to rest any rumours of Donato signing with the Bruins immediately after getting home from the Olympics.
Harvard will be hard-pressed to make the NCAA Tournament this year. They're currently 22nd in the Pairwise rankings used to determine the invitees. Only 16 teams get the invite, and because of the guaranteed spots to the conference champions, teams usually need to be top 12 or so to guarantee their spot (if they don't win their conference).
At this point, Harvard's only chance to make the tournament is to win the ECAC.
This is the final weekend of the regular season, and Harvard has already clinched a bye in the first round of the playoffs, so they'll have next weekend off. The ECAC Quarterfinals go the weekend of March 9 (it's a best two out of three series). If they win that, the semifinals and finals are the following weekend.
Harvard's season could be over as soon as March 10.

Not good for development, he should probably sign the pro contract.

Harvard lost tonight to Brown, 6-4. Fox had one assist, which gives him a four game point streak.

Another loss for Harvard to end their regular season. No points for Fox in a 2-1 loss to Yale on Saturday night.
They finish 4th in the ECAC standings, which gets them a bye to the Conference Quarterfinals. They'll have to wait until next week to find out who their opponent will be.
Their most-likely opponent is Dartmouth, who they defeated twice during the season.

Flames are at 49 out of 50 NHL contracts after adding Stewart and Shore.
Dare I say that last spot is probably reserved for Fox?

Interesting...
ECAC championships are March 16-17. If Harvard does not win ECAC championship they miss NCAA Frozen Four tourney and his season is over.
Plenty of time to sign him. His professional career begins three years early than if he wants to be a UFA.
Stockton becomes stacked at D for a long playoff run!

If he is going to Stockton for the playoff run, the Flames don't need a contract spot for him this season.
Only need that contract spot if he signs with the NHL club and burns a year of his contract in the 17/18 season.
Otherwise his contract starts in the 18/19 season.

Fair enough.
Might take the incentive of burning a year by signing with big club to make it happen.
He then gets shipped to Stockton.

I haven't looked, but Treliving was on the FAN this afternoon and he said they are at 48.

I wonder if he just misspoke. Capfriendly has Flames at 49. Perhaps a trade already lined up after season is over?.

49 is from capfriendly and quickly checking their numbers, I don't see a mistake. I heard him say that too, but I am going to trust capfriendly because it is likely he misspoke or misheard the question.

Dartmouth won its first round best-of-three series this weekend and they will be Harvard's opponent next weekend.
During the regular season, Harvard had a 2-0 record over Dartmouth, winning the games 5-0 (first game of the season at Harvard) and 4-1 (early February at Dartmouth). Fox had 2 points in the first game and none in the second.
Next week will be a best-of-three, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (if necessary). All games will be at Harvard. The winner will play in the ECAC semifinal on March 16. The loser's season will be over.

Harvard loses game 1 of their best of 3 series against Dartmouth.
No points for Fox.
Fox's sophomore college hockey season could be over tomorrow.
