I’m well familiar, with a club down a centre back. Or 2. Or 4.
Or down a keeper even. Not sure, where your excuses lie in reality to most clubs, but Liverpool were outplayed and fortunate to win on an opposition own goal.

Locke, I’m glad working with numbers is your strength, as words aren’t.

ex; Ajax are unlucky not to have won =! Liverpool blow every team out 10-0
Well we can't all give Bruno Fernandes two chances at the Penalty spot every match.

I imagine someone should speak to those opposing team's, into mitigating those two infractions within the 18 yard box.

Were they invalid?

They have instant replay, just in case.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Question for the followers of European soccer;
As you may (or may not) have heard Ajax broke an almost 50 year Eredivisie (Dutch top league) record by beating VVV Venlo 0-13 (!!!) last saturday.
The score was picked up by media worldwide.

Personally, I enjoyed watching it but in the Dutch media there was a lot of criticism.
Not directed at Ajax, but they're worried what this means in regards to the Eredivisie as a league.
The media overhere often refers to the Eredivisie as a 'Mickey Mouse' league.

I think this is an incident and I think the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Serie A have a bigger problem where one team wins the league every year and with quite a lot of difference in points.

What are your thoughts when you see a score like this?
Is it bad for the image of the league? Is it good for Ajax' image?

Honestly? I chalk it up to a wild year.

We're going to get some weird games and strange scores...I wouldnt look into this year for too much in terms of long-term planning.

I kind of feel like this season is just playing it out due to sponsor obligations and trying to generate whatever revenue they can.

I think most people just went "lol wtf?!?" when they saw the score. I certainly did, but it's not necessarily something that makes me question my perception of the league as a whole. Every league has crazy results every once in a while ... Bayern beat Schalke 8-0 a few weeks ago, and then there were those wild PL results as well (Villa beating Liverpool 7-2 etc). Leicester beat Southampton 9-0 last year too.

Ajax spanking another Eredivisie team doesn't surprise me that much in a nutshell. I have no idea what happened in that game, but yeah, a game with a double-digit score never helps image-wise. Social media and memes don't help, and people throw around terms like "Mickey Mouse" and "farmer's league" way too often these days.

Anyone else finding it really weird watching a game where there are actual fans in the stands?

Christmas coming a bit early for Barcelona fans this year, as Bartomeu has apparently resigned.

Yeah, I dont know how much of a blessing that is. They've left the Club basically old, thin and broke.

Not that I'll be crying any tears for Barca. They've pimped their reputation and advantages for years.

there's no quick fix obviously and they have a lot more problems to solve, but getting rid of Bartomeu is a great first step in the right direction.

but honestly, I enjoy watching La Liga going through this crisis right now ... they've dominated European football for a long time, might as well go through a bit of a dry spell for a change. Real down 1-0 to Gladbach, and Atletico only 1-1 at half-time against my Salzburg too.

Not sure anyone had Madrid and Inter fighting for the Europa League spot in this group.

only 2-2 between Atalanta and Ajax so far. Bit disappointing that, thought it'd be something like 4-4 by now.

I'm sorry....why do I want to see Real Madrid go 'in the right direction?'

Barcelona. And you don't have to (I don't either), but it's oviously great news for their fans, which was all I pointed out.

And screw European DST ending a week before ours so I couldn't take my usual two hour lunch from 12-2 and see at least a half.
