They have to make up five points and have one-less game to do so with 34-games remaining. That is a veritable chasm at this time of year, especially when the team being chased is among the League leaders in most statistical categories.

It's 2-1 now in Winnipeg. Broissoit can't stop them all.

Detroit just got 2 late goals and now lead ANA 3-1 with a couple minutes left.

ANA about to go 0-8-4 in their last 12

Default January 15 with ten games.

Detroit goes up 3-1 on Anaheim with 3 minutes left. Suck it Ducks!!! The games at the beginning of the year you had no business winning has caught up to you. 12th loss in a row.

It's a final in DET. The last time the Ducks won a hockey game was Dec 17th.

It's a waste of energy worrying about something that hasn't happened.

Kinda fun watching the Ducks be so terrible for so long. It's just unfortunate they still have a shot at the playoffs.

This makes me so happy. I honestly hate that franchise even more than the Oilers. F*** that team forever.

Is there a way swap John Gibson and Mike Smith? For Gibby, it will rejuvenate his chances to win his Vezina and having him in net (as 1A starter) and BSD as 1B? Oh damn give us the Stanley Cup.

Yup, and that was the only thing that went the Panthers way tonight. Antti Niemi, of all people, channelled the ghost of Patrick Roy tonight. Made 52 saves, most of the extremely difficult variety. Panthers just couldn't buy a 2nd goal.

Meanwhile, James Reimer impersonating Mike Smith with a sparkling .852 save percentage, letting in 4 goals on 27 shots.

Panthers need a shake up badly. Season is falling apart on this road trip, not that there was much hope to begin with.

Need a goalie ASAP. None in sight.

I can't believe the Ducks... i know they have a lot of injuries, but wow, that's a ton of games to lose consecutively...

surprised they haven't fired Carlyle...

It's coming.....has to be.

Im guessing once they get home from this trip, something happens. There is 1 home game and then the allstar break.

Murray will give Eakins that time to get settled with a couple practices and then away they go.
