Default December 19, just two games.

The Wednesday OOT features a division rival game and an inter-conference game.
Too bad the networks did not schedule the games properly to make for a doubleheader!

The Penguins-Capitals game has Washington scoring in the second period to lead 1-0. The Penguins have just tied it with Crosby deflecting Malkin's shot.It is a power play goal.

The Habs and Avalanche are tied 1-1 midway through the second period.

Weird that they only seem to wave off icings against the Flames. Pens called on icing and the cap could have gotten it

Final scores and links
Things are really tightening up in the west as the Avs are now 2 points
back of the Flames, Jets, and Predators for 1st place.

It really was a bummer that the 2 OOT games weren't made for a doubleheader. This was good Wednesday night hockey.

2 at 1 in regulation time

All 3 goals came in the 2nd period with the Capitals opening the scoring. The downfall for the Caps was their PP going 0/5 which meant great PK for the Pens. Rust is now credited with the GWG instead of Crosby who gets an assist on it. The rivalry between these two teams is alive and well. There was animosity and rough stuff. Crosby and OV mouthing each other off, yep, the Penguins are still ticked that they lost to the Caps in the playoffs.

The Avs get a big win and are now 2 points back of top spot in the western conf. The powerful line of Landeskog, MacKinnon, and Rantanen has over 140 points combined so far this season. Landeskog scored the GWG and his linemates had 2 points each. The Habs were on the board first before Rantanen scored with MacKinnon intercepting a careless attempted backhand pass by Price. Grubauer stopped 35 Habs shots and helped his team in the 2nd period as the Avs were out shot 14-4. The Habs PK was 4/4.

That was a gutsy win by the Avs, they were outpaced all night but they capitalized on their chances and Graubour gave them excellent goal keeping.
