Pretty much the same story every year. UFA signings get defended on the basis either 1) that's the UFA market price for player x or 2) the team had no choice but to build through UFA.

You have to believe there will come a time when the frenzy to sign players on July 1 stops and teams start looking at expensive UFA's as a last resort.

He has never been the same since he tore his groin a couple years ago. He then had hernia surgery, and for a guy who was never fleet of foot, those just slowed him down too far.
