Season 3 drops on June 27th...

Clearly this is a show that's popularity out west is hindered by subtitles and the dubbed version being less than optimal.

The biggest problem is the sound guy needs to be fired. BWAAAAAApp. All. the. time. The dramatic audio rarely suits the scenes. Running through the forest? Dramatic. Sitting at a coffee table? Dramatic. Walking through the school? Oh you better believe that's worthy of a bwap drop.

I wouldn't change a thing. Watched in German no way a dub is going to duplicate the performances which are terrific across the board. Plus I'm starting to understand German.
IMDB says season 3 starts June 27.

That's the problem though. Lots of viewers are too lazy to watch subtitles so watching the dubbed version kind of robs the viewer of the stellar performance of the actors.

I got about 5 minutes with the dub and switched to subtitles. The voices just didn't work for me.
If you want to work on your German some more, Babylon Berlin is alright.

Maybe it's just me, but I found the dubbing fine in Dark as it didn't take away from the acting and cinematography (both excellent)... I haven't even tried, but I think subtitles might be a bit of a distraction, where the dubbing is something I didn't really notice as I was too engrossed in everything else about the show.
Anyways, regardless of the viewing method, it seems we can all agree it's an excellent show. Bring on Season 3!

That’s an insane number. Do you have a link for that? I believe you I just want to read about it.

I read his original deal was for $250 million for 4 films. The deal is with his production company and Netflix so I believe he actually has to provide the films for that price. It’s not just his money.
Still.

So a potential 'Freddy Got Fingered' situation? He gets a set amount of money for delivering a set amount of product regardless of quality and he gets to keep the difference?
Well, Uncut Gems and now this one, hes halfway there!

Yeah these are not big budget spectacles. I guess he had to pay Aniston a decent amount for that mystery one.

Agreed... didn't realize there was the option for original German until i watched the first couple of episodes, so i went and rewatched - so much better.
Buddy of mine is stuck watching dubbed as it is easier for this wife and daughter... I make it a point to try it in German every time we talk about it.
3rd Cycle... praying they can stick the landing of this masterpiece.
I guess the show runners signed a multi project deal with Netflix and it sounds great....a bit like The Terror season one

The original series will follow the boat’s passengers, a mixed bag of European origins who are united by their hopes and dreams for the new century and their future abroad. When they discover another migrant ship adrift on open sea, their journey takes an unexpected turn. What they find on board will turn their passage to the promised land into a horrifying nightmare.

i'll be sure to watch that too - Dark has some of the best cinematography i've seen on a TV show.

Uncut Gems is not part of the Sandler Netflix agreement. The film was written and produced by others with Sandler only acting.
Interestingly Sandler originally rejected the role without reading the script and it was first cast with Jonah Hill.

I was surprised I had never heard of it but it flopped badly so that explains it. It’s #2 on the Netflix charts which goes to show the average viewer has crappy taste.

I don't know if anyone watched 365 days, but my wife's friend recommended it.
We made it 20 minutes in and had to turn it off. If there's a worse movie, I haven't seen it.

I mean, it's basically 50 Shades but with (somehow) worse acting, isn't it?

My 9 year old loves it. I heard him laughing last night and went to investigate.
