Ritchie has been practicing as a D man. Won't even notice a difference, right? RIGHT?!?!

Tanev can come back Feb 6, same night they resume their schedule against the Rangers (assuming he's ok to do so)

As much as he's been a polarizing player on here before injury he was on pace for 16 goals this season. I dont really have a problem with his game, but ideally they let him sit out a bit longer and (dont want to get my hopes up) sit Lucic out soon to get Ruzicka in some reps. I dont want to see any of the young guys pulled out for him, that's for sure.

If Pelletier comes out for Ritchie I'm avoiding this place until July.

Looch can come out for Ritchie
Looch's spot can be a rotating door. Pelts' for now should be untouchable

I know people don't like Looch on the second line, but scratching him altogether is a bit drastic, no?

Let me ask you - if Ritchie has to draw in, who do you want coming out?

Probably Ritchie. I mean it already seems like half our lineup right now is just a bunch of Brett Ritchies... I don't know what adding another one is going to do.

While I dont share your manically unbridled optimism (largely because our Division sucks) its hard to even care anymore.
I think I mentioned it in another thread, I'm a huge fan of Backlund, both as a player and a person, but if you put a gun to my head and told me to pick a Flames Captain or you'd pull the trigger the first name out of my mouth would be Tanev.
He is the straw that stirs the Flames' drink and I was hoping beyond hope that Weegar would step up and relieve some of the pressure on him.
But as good as Weegar has been, he has not lived up to that.
I cannot for the life of me fathom why this team plays like absolute dog-crap without Tanev.
They are so fragile without him.

Pre-Pelletier I thought that they should alternate stretches with Ricthie and Lucic. They play the same role and both seem to play better after some games off. You don't need both (if you need them at all).
I doubt Ritchie gets in if he was just activated. When he does though, I expect him on the bottom line. Maybe at the expense of Walker D.

Weegar looks like a low ice-Q d-man in recent times
I don't know where is brain is at but the "occasional brainfarts" we were warned about are a lot more frequent than I had anticipated
he needs to channel his best Tanev in Tanev's absence, since it's not happening for him offensively
that's his assignment until Chris is back
