Default Sam "Freaking" Bennett

Lets get a little positive around here.

Sam has a 4 game point streak going. He has 2 goals and 4 Assists in that time. While playing with Gadreau helps, he is also creating offense for himself.

That goal last night with the bank off of the net, and the assist from the other night (where he twisted off the board away from the defender) display his true skill.

He was also the player that went after Cowen after the Gadreau crosscheck.

His FO % has increased each of the last 4 games and he is now 4 pts off of the Rookies scoring lead.

The kid is legit and I love the way he plays the game. Should of had 5pts last night and looks better with each passing game. His goal was awesome and made Duchene look foolish

Surprised there was not already one of these threads.
His passion to get into the dirty areas is amazing.
I personally had doubts on him but after watching him this season on a terrible opening month, he will be a superstar in his own way in this league.

He was a point per game last season though. Bust.

one of the few bright spots right now. Seems he's settled in now and he's been playing very well. Really like the edge in his game and his willingness to go to the dirty areas.

Very exciting to have him. Looking forward to (hopefully) seeing Monahan-Bennett-Jankowski-Arnold in the middle in a few years.

That move he put on Duchene was filthy. That Duchene was so bitter about it he sat there shaking his head in disgust tells you just how filthy it was.

Bennet's play (especially as of late) has been the saving grace for me this season.

Can't get enough of that never say die attitude.

After a bit of a slow start and adjustment period, Bennett is transforming into a beast. I know Monahan is having a bit of a down year, but having these guys as a 1-2 punch down the middle will be something to behold down the road. I actually prefer Bennett play with Gaudreau instead of Monahan. 2 extremely skilled players who seem to feed of each other pretty well.

Imagine Bennett with an extra 20-25 lbs packed onto him in the future. He'll be damn near unstoppable.

With McDavid down long term, Sam could make a great push for the Calder.

As bad as this season is going, Sam is one of the bright spots. He will be a superstar.

As nice as it would of been to get Mcdavid last year, for me I wouldn't trade that season, I had a blast. It's just another learning curve for the kids to see what it takes and hopefully learn from it.

The kids haven't been a problem so far.

Really fantastic talent. I could definitely see him being one of those "A class" players in the future if he continues with what he's doing. Reminds me a bit of Perry in some ways, but if he could ever get close to that talent? We'd be so lucky.
