You and dino sure do get pissy when people bet against the Raiders.

Can see the Raiders getting out to a 4-2 start before it starts to fall apart.

Had them at 7 wins this year.

Is there a last place team from last year who wins the Division this year?

Carolina...ha ha
Washington...No one wins the NFC East two straight years
Arizona...should be better...but unlikely
Chicago...see above but GB and Det both are strong
Tennessee...not likely unless Mayo in coffee is that good
Jets...maybe hinges on Rogers
Denver...sorry displaced...not this year
Cincinnati...possible if Burrow plays every game.

Between Burrow and Rogers there's a chance that MVP and comeback player could be the same guy.

I'll go with Dak for MVP and we'll get to hear if Jerry needs to pay him 70 million a year. It's absurd, but so is the world these days.

Vegas has them set at 6.5, but likes the over, so I think you're on track.

Honestly, I just guessed when it came to how the AFC West pans out beyond the Chiefs. I don't think any of the other teams in that division make the playoffs.

Carolina has a better shot at going 0-17 than winning the division lol.

Da Bears have by all accounts improved on their roster from last year (not hard) and since acquiring Sweatt were in the top 5-10 of defenses last year. If they can carry that momentum I'm hoping for 9 wins.

However, even with improved QB play, I'm anticipating some hard learning curves that cost then a game or 2, so matching last years 7 win total is more what I expect.

Very excited for Wiliams and Rome combo, and to watch Keenan Allen in a Bears uniform. He was among my favorite non-Bears players

What was pissy about my post? I certainly think you are off base comparing me to dino as I'm a grounded fan as I should be because the Raiders are the Raiders. I was simply stating a truth. Everyone seems to think the Raiders are always the worst team in the AFC West for some reason despite the fact they rarely finish last in the division and it's the Broncos or Chargers that have alternated last place for 9/10 years.

But he's always kind of been a lucky guy that can do the job for like 12 games but not a full season guy

The Chargers are kind of paying for past transgressions capwise this year but should have the best coach they've had since Schottenheimer. I think homeschool Herbert is over rated...but he's still good. Harbaugh took over a dysfunctional team that had bust Alex Smith and had them in the NFC Championship in year 1. Herbert is way better than Alex Smith ever was. So he is the best QB Harbaugh has had.

So I don't know which one of them will be second and which one will be third. Of course if some injuries happen one of them could find themselves winning the Division too. If the Chiefs have to start Carson Wentz for 13 games...9 wins might be enough.
I'm not buying the top 10 defense. They were top 10 in the 2nd half of the season but I think a lot of that has to do with the coach bump and joy in the building that McDaniels was sent packing. We will find out this season if Pierce is the real deal as the history of interim head coaches getting the full time gig does not play into his favor. The secondary has paper thin depth and Graham has had one horrific season as Raiders DC and one good season. Could go either way IMO. The QB situation stinks and I wouldn't be shocked to see AOC starting games by mid season. Until they get a legit starting QB they are kind of in that mushy middle of 6-9 wins.

Like I said, it was a coin flip to me in terms of who finished last place in that division. On paper, I think the Broncos probably have the worst roster in the division, but it's probably still the put up or shut up year.

The reason for my concerns about the Raiders is that they want to run the old-school "smashmouth football" offense, which I don't think works well in the modern NFL. They have the defense, but I don't think the offense is screwed in any games they fall behind in.

Raiders will be running a lot of 12 personnel because so they can have Mayer and Bowers on the field at the same time. I actually think they have underrated pass catchers with Adams, Meyers, Tucker, Bowers, and Mayer but they didn't really upgrade the offensive line and AOC and Minshew are both incredibly underwhelming. The organization is simply treading water until they find a QB and Jerry Jones better get off his ass and sign Prescott because if he doesn't I have a bad feeling that the Raiders will be the team that signs him in free agency.

Bills have a tough schedule, more competition in the division, and quite a few major personnel changes. I'm hoping for 10 wins and to be in the division mix.

I'm honestly feeling the same way about the Ravens.

Of the 15 teams predicted to have the hardest 2023 schedules, only 5 finished with a winning record (Bills, Chiefs, Dolphins, Cowboys, and Vikings)

I think that 9 wins might be a stretch, but they should play better, and dumping Fields was addition through subraction.

There's a long sample size of teams who won 4 or more games than they did the previous season of struggling to match the previous seasons win total.

Jacksonville did last year. This year Houston, Chicago, Los Angeles Rams all fall into that category.

It's more I expect Broncos & Chargers to be improved. Didn't mean I was thinking 4-13 for Raiders or something like that. Some big coaches in that division, which could start making an impact this year. But we shall see
