Novak won the opening set 6-1, but it now getting a visit from the trainer in set 2.
Edit: The match has resumed, but Novak is certainly moving gingerly around the court.

Cerundolo breaks Novak to take set 2 7-5.
Edit: Francisco with a break and consolidation to tale a 3-0 lead in set 3. I know we've been down this road before, but I think that late night match with Musetti and a leg issue in this match feels different, I think Novak is in big trouble here.

Novak will have to go five sets again if he wants to advance past Cerundolo.

Novak is ramping up the speed on his ground strokes, he certainly doesn't want to play extended rallies in this 4th set.

Cerundolo with a break and serving at 3-2 in set 4.
Edit: Back on serve.
Edit 2: Novak indeed forces a 5th set taking set 4 with a break in the final game. Digging really deep.

By the way, Cerundolo had a break point in the penultimate game of set 4 and dumped a backhand into the net trying to go down the line.

He had lots of room there as well and it didn't even need to have a lot of pace.

All of a sudden, Djokovic looks 10 years younger and Cerundolo appears to be out of answers.
Edit: Of course, Cerundolo breaks right back after I post the above lol

Well, the good thing about Novak winning is that he along with Sinner are likely the guys to prevent Zverev from winning the French Open. That is, unless Holger wants to step up and knock the German out today.

Edit: Damn it.

Iga is falling apart, she followed up losing ten points in a match to actually conceding two whole games to Vondrousova earlier today.

Don't discount de Minaur. He's having a career year and is playing at as high a level as anyone on the men's tour.

De Minaur certainly has a good chance, you are right EE that he is playing some very fine tennis in 2024. The other thing is you have to think at some point that the amount of time Zverev has spent on court has to show up at some point.

Novak has withdrawn from the French Open (just announced during the broadcast of the Sinner - Dimitrov match).

Smart move by Djokovic, Nadal was never the same after playing through an injury at Wimbledon. I suspect he will also pull out of Wimbledon, for Novak this year is about one thing Olympic Gold.

I'm still mad at Novak for losing that match to Zverev at the Tokyo Olympics.

Sinner is into the final four as he dispatches Dimitrov in straight sets. With Novak out of the French Open, Jannik Sinner becomes the 1st Italian to be world number one.

Not a good day for the one handed backhand guys at the French Open today.
