not many good spots, the qualifiers got a bad draw

Maybe O'Connell or Giron, always good to get Americans or Australians on clay.

Or old man Nishikori

Rafa needs to beat Zverev in order for him to make his court date back in Germany at the end of May.

Bianca gets Sorribes Tormo in round 1 which is going to test her patience as SST is the ultimate pusher/moonballer and can run all day.

Tough one for Marina Stakusic as she falls in her final qualification match for the French Open. She continues a steady move up the rankings though and I'm sure gained some valuable experience this week.

Tomas Machac with the biggest win of his career beating Novak in Geneva 6-4 0-6 6-1. To be honest, Novak looked like he really didn't want to be there today, just playing to get some practice and match fitness in preparation for the French Open.

Gabriel Diallo vs Kei Nishikori

Winner gets Shelton or Gaston, then maybe FAA. That's probably as good a spot that Diallo could get.

Yeah, that's not too bad for Gabriel. I'm pretty sure I know who GS is rooting for in Gabe's first match lol

I'm not sure he's going to be able to flip the switch and go deep at the FO. The tour is too competitive now.

Girly, can you call one of your favorites JJ Wolf a lucky loser when he draws Carlitos? It's a nice payday so I guess that's lucky.

I agree. I'm not sure what Novak is doing by ratcheting down his schedule so significantly. We've seen time and time again that you can't just dabble at being a top player on tour, especially when your top competition is 15-20 years younger.

If you aren't at the very least playing all of the 1000 level events and a few tune ups, you are just going to be way off of the level required mentally to win a slam when it rolls around.

Maybe he shuts me up and wins the FO and Wimbledon, but I wouldn't bet on it the way he's going now...maybe he lost the fire as soon as it became clear he was going to come out on top of the Roger/Rafa/Novak major title battle.

That's a great slot for Gabe. Not to overlook Kei at all here, but I question whether he will even be able to make it through a 5 setter given the tragic state of his physical health.

It's all about Olympic Gold for Serbia.

Wow, this is crazy. This is from a couple of days ago and Stearns ended up winning the tourney in Morocco today.

Keep an eye on Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, he just won Lyon defeating Etcheverry in the final and is a 20 year old Frenchman with a big game. He takes on Goatfin in the first round at the French Open.

Starting to rain in Paris and matches on the outside courts have been suspended. Doesn't look like Gabriel will be on court anytime soon.

Diallo is now on court and up a break in set 1 versus Nishikori.

Edit: Diallo was serving for the opening set at 5-4, got broken, and then Nishikori wins the next two games to take the first set 7-5

Big Gabe broken again near the end of set 2.

Not very encouraging...
