That was the match of the year between Iga and Aryna just now. Iga wins Madrid in a 3rd set tie-break (9-7 was the tie-breaker score).

Felix breaks at love to start the final - Nice start lol
Edit: Consolidates quite easily.

Bweh looks paler than usual - Could he be under the weather? Not moving well to start the match.
Edit: I think it was reported that Andrey had a fever of 39 degrees Celsius yesterday. Yikes.

Okay, Felix takes the opening set 6-4. Nice battle back from love-30 down in that previous game. Serving well and the forehand is looking good, the backhand is um, er no comment lol

Bweh is starting to play a lot better and Felix is looking a little shaky at the moment.
Edit: Pulls out of another love-30 hole. That serve has been huge today.

Andrey has won something like 12 of the last 14 points. Felix needs a response here.
Edit: That was a very tough hold, but mission accomplished.

Felix digs out of a 15-40 hole to hold serve. Just not returning well enough to earn a break though, might need Andrey to break himself.
Edit: A 2nd rubdown for Felix in this 3rd set, tight hamstrings possibly.

Really looked like Felix was feeling it physically in that 3rd set. On the other hand, Andrey appeared to be feeling better as the match wore on. Double faults came at a brutal time obviously, but it was his backhand that really cost him this match. Top 20 serve and forehand, is his backhand even top 100?

His return of serve was pretty terrible for the last two sets as he couldn't even return Rublev's 2nd serve. This was maybe the best look he will ever have at winning an ATP 1000 and he just couldn't maintain a high level of play against a player that was under the weather. Still at the end of the day he exceeded expectations even if he received a lot of good fortune.

Yeah, he looked pretty dejected with himself after the match was over. He made a Masters 1000 final for the first time and that's a good takeaway from Madrid.

Navone won a challenger event yesterday on clay defeating Musetti in the final so obviously he's in great form and will be a tough test for Shapo if Denis wins his first match.

Leylah one and done in Rome as she loses to Ana Bogdan 6-4 6-1. It was a pretty dominating win as the score suggests, Bogdan played very well and just took it to Leylah today.
