Birds….. #### you!
Last year I get my first haskap crop and they eat it all the morning before I wake up to pick ‘em.
This year I’m ready. I buy bird nets. Pain to work with but saved my haskaps. My peach tree has peaches for the first time, and I just thinned it down to about 20 total. Little tiny hard balls right now, no where near ready for consumption by any mammal. Bought the net for it last night. Go out to set it up this morning and almost all of my peaches are gone. Maybe 3 left…
You ####ing pieces of ####. You do know that you’re the chicken #### species right? Had to evolve wings because you couldn’t handle all the crazy #### happening down here on land, in the real world. We all think you’re pathetic. Cowards.

That reminds me that I should get some bird net for my cherry and plum trees. I don't think birds have been to big of a problem for me but I have a squirrel that loves to visit our yard and eat my strawberries and cherries.

Those tree rats can #### off too.
I have a plague of grackles that come through a couple times a summer, I think they send scouts. The term for a group of them is appropriate, they’re like locusts.

A ####ing mammal is insulting birds as cowards? They had no problem being part of the most dominant clade of all-time while the mammals only came out at night to avoid them and then still survived a ####ing meteor that literally killed the rest of the clade. When it takes a meteor to get mammals to stop being little bitches you can't insult anyone dude.

I believe they call that "the helicopter", not the windmill.

There are a few in the neighbourhood that used to visit but since we got a dog they’ve deemed the territory “high risk”

Scumbags that run out on their tabs.
I went out for drinks and lunch with my sister and dad. We have a usual place that we go because the food is good and the service is good, and my sister seems to know most of those waitresses that work there.
Anyways, one of the waitresses was really upset. She's a single mother with an 8 year old kid. She doesn't get a lot of shifts. She also got the balcony during the rain storm and the VLT section.
She was upset because two of her customers in the VLT area had walked out without paying the bill. I mean we know that its common in the restaurant business that if a customer stiffs on the bill that the server is held responsible for the tab. I think the scum bags that run out on bills need to understand that.
Anyways, I went to the manager and paid the bill, It was only 35 bucks. But man, when I left I was fuming, what a rotten thing to do to someone.

That's illegal. I would tell the server to report them.

Restaurants/pubs that make a waiter/waitress pay for their own customers walk outs GMG. At least start a fund that that they contribute into to to help pay for walkouts. Most places I worked at back in the day did that.
If management at least paid for half a walk out bill then they would have a vested interest in helping prevent them.

That’s managements risk. Any contribution by the employee is ridiculous. If a particular person is not competent at preventing it relative to average you lay the person off.
They are working for a wage. They do not share in profit/loss risk.

Realistically, the restaurant should have an expectation of a certain degree of losses and can write those down.
If a server is 'responsible' for a walk-out, how much are they responsible for? The retail price of the meal or the establishment's cost?
Either way its ridiculous, it should be the responsibility of the establishment.
Like when I was a kid I had a friend that worked in a gas station (before the days of pre-pay) and if someone drove off without paying for their fuel they took it out of his paycheque.
Complete Bull####.

Back to the birds. There is a flock of pigeons, maybe 40-80, that seems to have set up shop on my neighbours roof 3 or 4 houses away. It’s odd, they only seem to hang out on his house and no one else’s. My concern is they decide my house looks like a good place to roost and now I have to deal with them.
Are they his pets? Is he feeding them? I think to have pet pigeons you have to have a permit. I would think feeding pigeons in your own yard isn’t illegal, but I really have no idea. Maybe someone has some more knowledge of the rules than I do.
My other concern is if I go over and ask him about it, then “his” pigeons start disappearing, it may put me in a tricky spot.
