The reasonable side of me knows that buying an AWD Hybrid Corolla would be such a good move.

But the other side of me falls asleep halfway through that thought. I just can't do it

True although you might have to wait longer and I'm not sure whether they're selling those things at sticker anyway.

So credit where it’s due. Was doing my usual 10% over on 22x and got passed by a Subaru. Good for you

New GX is the only Toyota SUV with the v6 now. And I like the GX over the 4 runner or the new land cruiser which it shares the same platform with. It's just better. Is it 30k better ? Probably not.

Not very many. That era of GMs was pure junk, and there is relatively few people insane enough to devote the time and effort to keep one of those things in good condition and on the road today.

Although they all are really missing a huge opportunity to pull off the double spoiler look:

I love the look of the new GX and Land Cruiser...I just wish they didn't downgrade the engines to smaller turbos. I have a feeling a 2023 GX with the NA V8 will outlast both.

Same with the new 4Runner....

Dude that new Toyota engine scares the #### out of me. I didn't even consider the Tundra when I bought my F150. In the past I've come close on a Tundra, but it's off the table for now.

Not that Im on the market for a new truck, but I agree. Toyota will eventually figure it out, but that Turbo V6 is a pretty big black mark for them.

This may be the first time I've uttered (typed) this word in probably a decade, so excuse my ignorance, but what in particular is wrong with the Toyota V6 in the Tundra? Stats seem solid - is the concern that it's too high-strung?

They've had reliability issues. Same as anything, just avoid the first few years of a new engine, I have no doubt they'll be fine going forward

I think this one gets a little overblown since a lot of the narrative is driven by people that wish their was still a v8 option

I mean, they're replacing 100,000 engines in 2022 & 2023 Tundras and Lexus LXes. That's a pretty big fricken step, so it's not just like the Internet is complaining over nothing. This is a serious problem. I've read the 2024s are suffering from the same catastrophic failures and the recall could be extended.

Sounds like it isn't any kind of critical design failure, it's just machining debris wasn't cleared out, and that can cause the failure. So if they fix that in the assembly process, it doesn't sound like there is a fundamental issue with them. Major screw up though.

Here I thought Volvo's 400hp 2L 4 cylinder turbo-supercharged-electric hybrid was going to be the grenade to watch out for.

They probably are or will be as they age but since nobody buys Volvo’s you won’t hear about many failures.

Interesting.

Again, this is the most attention I've paid to Toyo... Oh #### it, I just don't care

Lol! My sister had that exact car in College. Bright red Sunfire.

Of course when maintenance was required who drove it? That thing was just a despicable POS.

When you combined the build quality of a 90's GM economy car, with the lackadaisical attitude towards maintenance within their ownership group...I'm not sure those things ever stood a chance.
