Marketplace of ideas works in at least one way; often the most successful things in the open market aren't the actual good ones, just the ones with the most $$ to push them.

It is kind of funny, though probably not for the reason you were looking for... it sounds suspiciously like, "hey, the strategy of calling someone an immoral person when they disagree with me is kind of losing its edge. What else could I do?" "Hmmm... Why not find a way to call them a pervert?" "Hey, yeah! The implication of some deviant sexual undertone to what they're saying will really drive home how completely I've signed on to the rhetorical tactics of the early 1990's religious right!"
Or I could just be busting your balls a bit and you may need to get outside a bit more.
I don't, which is definitely the only reason, and no other reason, that I'm not prepared to agree to those terms.

This isn't directed at you DownInFlames but these so-called internet "debates" are so boring and useless. There is no real effort nor desire for understanding or consensus, in fact they're designed for the very opposite. It's all about getting their own viewer base to pat themselves on the back by agreeing with their positions and the debater cultivating an ever growing bubble and stream of revenue. Internet "debaters" are contributing to the polarization of society.
I agree completely and this video is proof of it. Hassan even admits he probably didn’t change any minds.
I posted the video because I had never heard of Tate before and wanted to share his ridiculousness. He’s apparently a kick-boxer of some renown and has a large following who buy into his MLM scheme. He’s a clown.

Yeah, Hasan has said on numerous occasions that he's willing to debate anyone but ultimately thinks it's a pretty useless exercise.

He also did a shameless hit piece on Alberta Oil. That's my litmus test for celebrities that do zero personally research and end up getting sucked into America's war on oil.
