Glad to see Stromgren showing up frequently in those highlights.

Wranglers got their asses kicked 8-3 by the Henderson Silver Knights.

Rough night for Ignatjew. Pulled after letting in four in the first ten minutes of the game before being replaced by Cooley.

Inexplicably, Ignatjew was back at the start of the second and played the rest of the game. I hope that doesn't mean Cooley got hurt.

Fifteen saves on 21 shots --- yoinks!

They play again tomorrow afternoon. Guessing they are saving Cooley since the game was 5-0 when Iggy went back in

Poirier got 2 assists, and a game-high 5 shots. 4 points in the last 4 games (+4), to bring his season total to 13gp/0g/5a/5pts,-1, 10 PIM.

Goal and an assist for Pelletier, who moves into a 7-way tie for 3rd in the scoring race with 13gp/2g/11a/13pts,+8, 4 PIM, and tied for 8th in plus/minus.

Kerins! scores again, to bring his totals to 13gp/10g/3a/13pts,+12, 4 PIM. He's tied for 3rd in points, and is still first in goals, and first in plus/minus.

No points for Duehr, but he's tied for 10th in scoring with 13gp/7g/5a/12pts,+3, 8 PIM, which puts him in a tie for 5th in goals.

Also getting points were Tinordi (1g), and Klapka (2a, and 12 PIM).

Cooley sits at 7-2-0-2, with a 1.62 GAA, and a .950 SV%.

Wranglers storm back this afternoon to thump the Henderson Silver Knights 4-0.

Coolio with the donut. Klapka with a pair, Duehr and Morton with goals as well.

Quote:
The American Hockey League announced today that Calgary Wranglers goaltender Devin Cooley has been selected as the Howies Hockey Tape/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending November 10, 2024.

Cooley stopped 81 of the 83 shots he faced over four appearances (three starts) last week, recording two shutouts along with a 0.64 goals-against average and a .976 save percentage.

On Tuesday evening against Bakersfield, Cooley allowed one goal on 31 shots in a 2-1 Calgary loss, then came back the next night and shut out the Condors, 4-0, behind a 22-save effort. After a 10-minute relief appearance against Henderson on Saturday night, Cooley got the start in Sunday’s rematch and made 26 saves to shut out the Silver Knights, 4-0.

Cooley, who has allowed one goal or fewer in seven of his first 10 starts this season, has a record of 8-2-0 with a 1.46 GAA, a .954 save percentage and three shutouts for Calgary, which sits in first place in the AHL’s Pacific Division.

A fifth-year pro out of the University of Denver, Cooley has gone 40-26-6 with a 2.92 GAA, a .908 save percentage and three shutouts in 77 career AHL appearances with Calgary, Rochester, Milwaukee and Chicago. The native of Los Gatos, Calif., made his NHL debut with San Jose in 2023-24 and earned his first NHL victory on Apr. 6, 2024, vs. St. Louis.

I was at the game vs Henderson Silver Knights and Klapka looked great. He was physical and has surprising skating and hands for a guy that size.

Cooley made some great positional saves off some in tight one timers/redirects. He looked calm back there.

Poirier is clearly the most offensively gifted defenceman on the Wranglers. I would expect to see more points from him after this slow start.

Bishop is a great choice for C. He works hard out there and sets a great example.

I thought Morton looked good too. He was out there for a lot of key situations. The coaching staff clearly trusts him.

Brandon Hickey looking like Brent Burns with that beard.

Kuznetsov has quietly put together a good season with his +/-. Impressions?

Kuznetsov probably had his best game of the year. He made some good defensive plays below the goal line and won some one-on-one battles. He did well clearing the front of the net. He had some smart offensive zone pinches at the blue line and made some good reads.

Solovyov looked like he was too good for the AHL.

I would have hoped for more than 2a in 14 games for Bru but I know there is more to it than just points.

He's 19 still. Very young for the AHL. And he isn't playing as much PP time as others.

It will come. Bringing him along nice and slow is a good path for him.

From what I have seen, he has been making some great defensive plays this year.

Now that Mantha is out I was hoping that would give the Flames an opportunity to start rotating in prospects to get some big league experience.

I haven’t been following the Wranglers much. For those that do who do you think are the most NHL ready forwards?
