The biggest plot hole in the whole Gilligan's Islands thing was the professor was a brilliant egg head and a pretty good looking guy, on an Island with an old married millionaire, a fat old crusty boat captain who shared a hut with a skinny goofy looking moron and he wasn't tearing up Ginger and Mary Anne.
Since money didn't mean anything on the Island he should have been researching electrolyte sources on the Island if you know what I'm saying.
But instead he was building coconut radios and couldn't build a seaworthy raft to save his life.
