Default Michael Bay Meltdown

Many of us have had the misfortune of wasting a few hours of our lives watching Michael Bay make movies out of little more than explosions and special effects. Apparently he doesn't have a lot to say about his work, craft, or the new Samsung HD TV's without a prompter adding him;

I'm not a mean spirited person but I don't feel bad for him at all.

Lol, he even had to have them script his answers to pre-done questions.

"Meltdown" might be a bigger exageration then the average Michael Bay movie from start to finish

To put it in a context, Michael Richards (Kramer) had a "meltdown"

Stage fright. That's all this was. It takes a great deal of courage to get up in front of a crowd, even if you have a teleprompter.

that was far from a meltdown, he just walked off and said sorry. Simply inexperienced at public speaking is all. He probably knew the answers just didn't have the background to improvise under the circumstances, not many people can unless they practice public speaking.

Funny to think how much Bay was paid for that 30 second appearance. If only he could have put it into words he could understand.

For the record I still like The Rock and the first Bad Boys was pretty good, everything else Bay has done has been downright awful.

Everybody seems to say that they hate Michael Bay, but everyone still seems to line up for the pleasure of plunking down $20 to see his latest piece of crap.

Is this guy the Nickleback of filmmakers?

The Rock and Bad Boys (1) are great entertainment, I even liked Armagedeon and The Island.

Transformers was too intense, first one was survivable but then it all went off the rails.

I feel pretty bad for him. Clearly he's paid to get up there and read a prompter... it's not his fault he didn't research a product he doesn't care for. Honestly, the guy asks him to just say how a curved screen is going to change things. I probably couldn't answer that question without laughing in a room of 1 person, let alone an auditorium.

Yeah, he freaked out. Dude isnt an actor hes a director. He sits behind the camera and not in front of one for a reason.

More people are afraid of public speaking than gruesome death.

I kind of feel bad for the guy after watching that. He looks like he totally froze up, I'm sure it wasn't a pleasant experience.

This sums up Michael Bay's entire career in a nutshell. If he wasn't such a clown, he might have actually been one of the great directors of our time. His lack of understanding of pacing, tone, and human emotion in general completely undermine whatever cool visual sequence he tries to create.

I think Bay gets piled on too much. The Rock and Bad Boys are amoung the top popcorn movies ever. The first Transformers is good especially since people had been waiting for it for 25 years. The 2nd was a disaster but the third was fun. I think the best thing you could do with a Michael Bay Movie is take 100 million out of his budget. If you give him budget he will put it in an action sequence.

His good work does get devalued by his crap, and the overall thoughtless, empty qualities of his films. The Rock is great. Bad Boys is great. Hell, Transformers One is pretty damn good. It's about a kid who buys an alien robot and has an adventure. He gets the girl in the end and saves the day. Beautiful.

Since then, his films have been over the top obnoxious in every way, because once he realized he could slap Transformers on the title, get Peter Cullen to say 'one shall stand, one shall fall' and print a billion dollars, he was no longer sidled with limitations. Limitations make things cooler. His personality is now oozing out of every shiny frame. And Michael Bay's personality is gross.

Bad Boys 2 is an infinitely better movie than Bad Boys 1.

The script of bad boys was tedious and dumb........I would like someone to explain to me the rationale (other than making mo money) behind transformers 2......terrible movie they just blow crap up. And they get the kids interested in transformers, and then in number two they introduce us to the f-bombs.......
