Default CP forum super slow to load

EDIT (Sep 25): problem recurred
EDIT: problem seems to have been resolved

- Cache cleared
- forum.calgarypuck.com is super slow... calgarypuck.com homepage is fine
- slow to load on phone and mac (device independent)
- slow on home and mobile networks
- images not completely loading

What's going on here and how can it be fixed? Thanks!

Ya it's horrible. And when it does load I get an all white screen and images won't load.

Is it the images and page formatting that's slow? I.e. if you load your avatar image directly (and maybe do a SHIFT-Refresh to reload it so it doesn't use the cache) does it load fast?

https://cpforumhttps-calgarypuck.net...atar4277_6.gif

The images and styles load off a content delivery server rather than CP's servers directly, so trying to see the source for you (I don't see any kind of slowdown).

Same thing here since about Thursday night.

Any page on the site takes 45 seconds to a minute to load and when it does, includes no images and only the text in a very simple format.

Attempting to ad screen shot, but can't really tell if you're seeing it on the site because images on CP aren't appearing for me.

Now that you've explained that, I think there are two separate issues, because when the site was working again, there were still problems with the images.

The link you posted gave me a 504 Gateway Timeout. But even getting anything at all to load from forum.calgarypuck.com is slow.

Hm yeah, seems to me like there's some kind of network issue between your ISP and MaxCDN / Stackpath (the provider of much of the static content for CP) https://www.stackpath.com/maxCDN. Or maybe something within MaxCDN.

My traceroute goes to different point but that's probably expected since I'm in Calgary and use Shaw, but I eventually get to IPs in the same range.

Code:
  6 10 ms 10 ms 9 ms rc3so-be214.cg.shawcable.net [24.244.57.21]
  7 33 ms 32 ms 31 ms rc1wt-be82.wa.shawcable.net [66.163.76.9]
  8 * * * Request timed out.
  9 34 ms 32 ms 31 ms 151.139.66.6
 10 35 ms 30 ms 30 ms 151.139.66.10
 11 33 ms 32 ms 32 ms 108.161.188.132

Trace complete.
I'll maybe submit your traceroute to them as a service request to see if something is going on.

Ok I submitted a support request. We'll see what they say. Enough of the site's code is on that CDN that if it isn't working most of the site will appear slow or non-functional.

That same image can be pulled from CP directly:
https://forum.calgarypuck.com/custom...atar4277_6.gif

However it's super small so probably wouldn't show much in terms of speed testing.

I also tried a test on the forum with Pingdom and it says the site loads in 970ms, so definitely something strange network wise going on.

Direct link to my avatar works fine, so yeah, probably just the CDN.

They asked me whereabouts you are located and what ISP you use. By your traceroute I assume eastern Canada and Videotron?

I haven't been able to load this site in about 4 days. I thought it was cause I was in a few small east coast towns but now I'm in a normal "city" with regular wifi and it's still the same.

This is what my page looks like and it takes 4 minutes to get to even this point. (It won't even let me wrap the image, but here's the link:

https://imgur.com/a/YcIskbY

I cleared cache. Issue still persists.
I'm running Windows. Tried Chrome and Edge.
From my phone and from laptop and it's all the same.
Still nada.

Any advice?
