Default Dark Mode for CP

Hey, is it possible to turn CP into dark mode? I don't know if it's universally liked, but I know I way prefer a black background versus white background. I find CP to a very bright site.

If it is possible to have a dark mode colour scheme and it's not difficult for the mods to change, maybe we could poll users to see if it would be a preferred set up.

If you don't want to bother, feel free to ignore the suggestion.

Thanks!

It'd require creating a new theme to use which isn't impossible, just time consuming.

I tried doing that with Horsemen at one time, and it was a thorough pain in the butt.

I eventually found a theme creation tool, but that was with PHP.

Yeah creating a theme is just in general annoying.

If we migrated the forum to new software that would probably be a lot easier to do since they usually have more modern browser code, that's even more work though.

I guess I'll see what I can do, maybe it's not as bad as I'm thinking.

Hey photon, I'd hate to see you go to a bunch of work on this. I just thought maybe if there was like a switch you could hit...like just the tap of a mouse button. Since there's not, it's good just the way it is.

Hi Photon and team, any updates on this? Dark Mode would be absolutely helpful on the eyes. Not sure if there has been custom work performed to assemble this, or if a straight vBulletin theme can be purchased:

http://www.vbstyles.com/vbulletin-4x-dark-skins-c3.html

This would go a long way for the hardcore users with big monitors

Yeah, I'll also chime in to support the idea of a dark mode theme. I would love that, and it would be timely given the black Blasty jersey is back.

Like TheScorpion, I wouldn't even mind chipping in some cash to make it happen.

I'd toss in $50. If we get enough of a pool, maybe we can make it worth Photon's while.

I tried a few downloaded styles and they either were messed up or weren't the right version. Finally found one that worked and changed a few things to get it somewhat working. Some of the icons still have white fringes around them and such but most of it should be readable. Let me know if you find anything that is unusable or really breaks the dark-ness.

Or selectable as CP Dark from the bottom left dropdown.

It actually looks good Photon. I guess the only beef is that the text in the entry box is black on a dark green so a little hard to read To get around that you can select white text on entry.

Really? What browser? It's white on dark in Chrome.

This is what I see:

Love it, my only comment is that it should be a very dark grey over actual black.

Absolutely loving the dark mode so far. Just one question/query. Would it be possible to have a similar separation between the stickies and regular threads as we have for the light mode?
