Nope Honzek only played 2 games at center and they moved him back to LW. IIRC

He's 20 (by a couple months). At better than .5 ppg in the AHL.

He's actually doing quite well for his age.

I was just going to say the same. 0.5ppg for a 20 year old is good for the A. It would be way better if he was producing at a higher clip but he doesn't get top line minutes on the Wranglers, that goes to Hunt and Bishop and the other vets.

He also missed almost all of last year so to take a step up into a new league and produce at the rate he's currently at is a good sign.

Hopefully he goes on a bit of a run to end the year ala Stromgren last season and we see a new level in his play.

Watching Honzek this year has been a change, you can see him trying to insert himself into more opportunities as the season progresses, where prior it almost seemed as though he was not comfortable or afraid to cause a turn over or be out of position.

Wranglers get whooped, 6-1 by the Ontario Reign. They are still on top of the AHL standings by 2 points, but the second-place team (Hershey) has 2 games in hand, and Rochester is 5 points behind the Wranglers with 3 games in hand.

David Silye (Klapka, Poirier) was the goal.

Murphy (2-2-0-0, with a 4.14 GAA, and a .881 SV%) stops 21 of 26 in 2 periods of play, before being replaced by Ignatjew (8-4-1-0, with a 3.72 GAA, and a .880 SV%) who stops 6 of 7 in the 3rd period.

Honzek playing some shifts at Centre today. He is struggling with the fast turn around between games. Skating needs to get better to make the Flames.

No Dryden Hunt last 2 games - didn’t see an injury or call up?

Having Tyson Barrie on the ice allows some interesting skating comparison. Only a few Wranglers can skate at that level. Parker Bell, Solovyov, Stromgren, Poirier

Wranglers lose 5-4 in OT, but at least Cooley is back.

2 A from Barrie.

He had a goal and two assists yesterday I think.

6 points in two games is nice, he's really feeling it.

From the highlights, it looks like Cooley had a rough night. Hopefully, he can shake off the rust and get back into form for a late-season callup.

Stromgren wearing the "A" today as well. He is now tied for 7th in AHL scoring, with 42gp/12g/25a/37pts,-4, 8 PIM.

So, Kerins down and Stromgren up next?

Maybe Kuznetsov too?

I was a the game yesterday and here are a few things I noticed:

- Tyson Barrie is slow but he makes up for it in other parts of his game. I can see why he struggles at the NHL level.
- I thought Poirier, Solovyov, and Brzustewicz looked great. It kind of makes me think the Flames really should trade Andersson.
- I liked Ciona, I hope he becomes a bottom 6 guy on the Flames.
- Honzek was invisible.
- Stromgren looked good! I hope he gets called up at some point this season.
- Cooley had a rough game but still made some great saves.

I highly recommend going to a Sunday funday Wranglers game. It was a great time!

In 16 games, Valterri Ignatjew currently sits at 50th out of 51 AHL goaltenders for Goals Against Average and 47th in Save Percentage.

He has won 9 of his 16 games, which tells me that the team is winning in spite of him.

Thankfully on a one year contract.
