Seemed like the ref was going for a world record in penalties called. Wasn’t even a chippy game.

Wranglers are still holding on to first overall with 41 points in 30 games (.683 win %), but the Hershey Bears (39 points, same amount of games played), and the Laval Rocket (38 points with 2 less games played) are closing in, and then there's 3 more teams that are tied with 37 points. The Toronto Marlies are tied with the Charlotte Checkers for 7th-overall with 35 points, but they are tops in the AHL with a .700 win % (they have only played 25 games).
Things are so tight in the AHL that the 14th-place Colorado Eagles have 31 points in 25 games, with a .620 win %. The Wranglers are 6-4-0-0 in the last 10, with 4 defeats in the last 5 games.

Hasn't the tendency for the last few years been for the Wrangles to start out hot, then cool off late in the season?

I seem to remember the same, perhaps due to more call-ups? I could be wrong.

Losing Duehr and Pelletier probably doesn’t help the cause.

Thanks for the update. The game had completely slipped my mind (despite near-saturation promotion on social media channels).

Took my son and his buddy last night. Some thoughts:
- Hunter has great offensive instincts, ability to walk the blue line and fake out attackers under pressure.
- Was hoping for more from Rory as my son had the same name and was cheering for him. Stromgren and Hunt were driving that line IMO.
- Ciona bigger than I thought and disruptive
- Fun atmosphere with tons of kids

What's the deal with Ignatjew? I figured he'd start off slow while adjusting to the different rink size (common with European goalies -- Rittich for example), but it's now half way through the season and his numbers look decidedly mediocre. One year contract, so no big deal I guess.

He's not bad enough for one of the ECHL guys to take his place though. With Cooley presumably playing in the NHL next season, it appears the organization will be looking for prospect goaltenders. Something to keep in mind come trade deadline.
