To me it was pretty much what you'd expect for a Deadpool movie. Lots of comedy, lots of violence. Colossus came off perfectly imo and now I want to see another movie with him in it. he'd fit perfectly into the X-Men franchise...or better then the cameos he's had.
I thought it was great. It had a nice balance of violence and humor and I think they did a faithful adaptation of the comics. Ryan Reynolds did a fantastic job as Deadpool.
I agree with you about Colossus. He was bad ass and I hope they bring him into the X-Men franchise.
Finally, this movie might just have the greatest Stan Lee cameo yet.

I've never been a fan of Deadpool. There were 2 reasons I went to see this movie. I like the idea of an R-rated superhero movie (and this one delivered perfectly on that front) and I'm a big fan of Colossus. As I've told a couple of friends of mine, this movie has set the bar for Colossus, and the X-Men movies should take note.
I also think that a movie featuring him and Teenage Warhead would go off well.
As to the movie itself...I don't like the "flip back in time" style of narrative, so I wasn't fond of that. Once the movie 'caught up' to itself, it was pretty good.
The girl and I saw it this afternoon. Loved it. She's been on pins & needles waiting. It was the most I've laughed at a movie ever. Got a kick out of the bit after the credits too.

Yep - that was the first thing we said when he appeared.
Just got back and loved it. So glad Reynolds stuck to his guns and did not cave on the R rated version. Perfect adaption of Deadpool - I can't wait to see it again - probably Monday
That was pretty good. Nice to see Vancouver featured so prominently in it, particularly the scene with Stan Lee in the No. 5 Orange (I wonder how much the No. 5 had to chip in for that bit of free advertising). Quite a bit of Canadiana in this one with the shout-out to Regina too.
One thing that struck me was how low-budget the movie seemed to be (in the grand scheme of Hollywood movies). Pretty small cast with speaking roles, fairly minimal effects, very few and pretty basic sets.
So that final fight was on a Shield Helicarrier right? Not sure if done with Marvel studios permission or just a nod to the Avengers universe and Winter Soldier.
How many of you saw kids at the showings you went to? We were a bit taken aback at how many went. There were several that were between 7-10, and a few right around the 11-12 mark.
I was at a late show so there were definitely no children. However both my girlfriend and I thought that the movie was not particularly bad violence/language wise. You can easily see worse violence on TV and the language although quite salty isn't something crazy bad.
Honestly, i'd be more concerned about my child watching an episode of criminal minds that I would be about watching dead pool.
I have never clapped at the end of a movie before, but I did for this one. My wife had a good laugh at that. It's been a long wait for this film and they did it perfectly....

Even the opening credit were awesome. More Ass hats need to produce movies like this!
Loved how the opening credits pretty much set the tone for the rest of the movie by breaking the 4th wall from the get go. The end credits were also great, and the end credits extra scene was very well played. Not a perfect movie by any means, but one that is fun from start to finish. Loved this movie!

They certainly went all in. I had no plans to see this movie and had incredibly low expectations. I've just never been a fan of Deadpool's schtick, and he's overexposed to hell. My expectations were mildly exceeded. Which I imagine means he will continue to be crammed down the collective throat of comic fans for the forseeable future.
Just came back from it, good movie, I enjoyed it a lot.
I agree in that I didn't think it was even that violent of a movie. Maybe I've been desensitized by violence as I do watch a ton of anime, and I think this movie totally pales in comparison to anime violence.
