I'm assuming Vladar starts and the team comes out differently and we get the win. They seem to play with more confidence in front of him and I think from Markstroms early season yips he still hasn't earned back the teams trust. Even though it seems detrimental it really seems like the Flames try to do too much to keep the puck when he's in, including poor pinches and when they backfire they turn into extra odd man rushes. The flow of the team seems to gel better overall when the guys in front have confidence they dont have to avoid everything they possibly can from coming back their way.

I have been saying Pelletier is most likely a good fit to play with Huberdeau, and it seems like Sutter knows it too. I hope we see them together again today and Huberdeau starts getting his mojo back

Just put Pelletier on the first line and see how it goes. It does not matter we win or lose. We need to plan for next season now. Sutter , are you there ?

I will absolutely not be watching tonight. After the utter lack of any effort last night, I would rather drill my own brain out than watch another uninspired slogfest. Unless of course Lord Vladar starts, then all bets are off. Either way I will be watching the highlights afterwards.

So they're trying to avoid things coming back their way by over pinching and giving up multiple breakaways?
This makes sense to you?
If they thought the way you think they do, they'd only send one forechecker and keep the F3 high to the D to avoid ever giving up an odd man chance, not continue to send the opposition in alone.

If you're asking me to make it make sense why they're doing what they do in front of Markstrom but not Vladar I cannot. But nonetheless they give up more HDC against with Markstrom than Vladar. I often notice its from ill timed pinches. So its either what I posted above, or they're trying to force offence because were down (which usually we are with Markstrom in net).

2nd time the Flames have gone to Seattle the day after playing at home. Ridiculous schedule this season. They couldn't have put the Seattle trips after Vancouver or tacked on to the California trip?

If Pelletier is playing on a line with Huberdeau, that’s good.
Otherwise I wouldn’t mind them trying
Huberdeau - Lindholm - Toffoli
as a line again, and try Pelletier on Backlund’s wing.

Lewis is never leaving the regular lineup. He's too important to the penalty kill.
