Funny game. Blue Jackets got away with a lot of penalties in the early goings and then I think it shifted by 180 in the latter half, especially in OT. But you take those breaks all day.

Mangiapane is really coming around. Boy oh boy he had a good night

Him turning things around has been huge recently. They were desperately missing that 35-goal scorer in the first half of the season.

Flames are 5 points out of first in the division.

There isn't a powerhouse in the division. There isn't a powerhouse in the conference(if Colorado gets really going, watch out). They could give anyone in the West a good series.

This is why you don't call for rebuilds, this is why you don't call for minus Bedard points, this is why you don't call for the coaches head after the odd crappy loss here or there.

On the same token, a OT win vs CBJ is obviously not some pre-cursor to labelling them a bonafide contender. They're not Boston. Obviously.

But they are in the mix in what's a very competitive division/conference and you don't just throw away opportunities at the playoffs by tanking, making massive changes or some of the other crap that was being spewed a couple weeks ago after the CHI and STL OTL's.

Checked in on the game thread. Some real gems in the last few pages if anyone wants to bring back a wall of shame.
Almost every post once the 3rd was over. It's expected now on the board, which is sad, but what can you do?

Now let's hope Tanev is back sooner than later, I didn't see a replay of his injury but damn if he isn't the glue holding alot of this team together.

I know Dube-Lindholm-Toffoli is working...but I still think Dube is our best linemate for Huberdeau. Very similar to Bennett, hes quick, and can one time the puck.

I thought Pelletier was all over it tonight. Very noticeable, made a lot of tenacious plays, hard on the puck and had good instincts. Made a goof in the third on the icing, but otherwise was great.

To this effect, I agree with you, move Lucic down, Dube to his spot, and Pelletier to the top line, just to try it out. Let him play with some finishing talent and see what happens.

I'm sure it was discussed in the GT, but Peltier made some really smart, high skilled plays that didn't necessarily show up on the score sheet, but that tell me that he's going to be able to cut it at the NHL level.

I don't know. I thought the last 2 pages was people betting against the Flames in OT. Which frankly, is smart money.

Pelletier deserves more ice time just for the battle with Gudbranson. I love the look by Looch. Call me tomorrow and let me know how your face is.
