Pretty much, and I am one of those people, but only when it comes to gaming. I have had my Xbone from pretty much day one. Now that I have an LG OLED 4k TV there is no reason for me not to use my RBC Points to buy this thing lol
Native 4K, 60FPS, HDR. I already have Sea of Thieves Pre-ordered for $40 and expect Battlefield 1 to release its specs on the Xbox OneX soon.

I think the Scorpio is a little bit beefier in the hardware department but I've heard PS4 Pro will have a price drop. Probably comparable hardware and systems.
I've had my xbox one for over a year and it's become more of my central video streaming/dvd hub. There are usually good sales/free games and I have EA Access to get the sports games for free 8 months in.
I've been PC gaming more since I picked up a new unit.
The only reason I'm considering a PS is due to FFVII remake. The exclusives on PS4 are temping too. Xbox used to have some really good ones but they don't seem to either care or produce new IPs that are exclusives.

Still available now at Walmart and Microsoft in those links.

And I am sure there will be multiple waves. Amazon has been getting "restocks" as the preorder page availability goes on and off. Also, all pre-orders so far are for the Scorpio edition according to Microsoft:

They'll start preordering the standard edition when the run out of the "limited edition". We are still about 3 months from release.

Yeah, I think that is pretty much it. Basically like the "Day One" edition that they did.

A couple of other minor aesthetic touches is all. The console's external design/pattern is different, and the buttons on the controller are black.
...Decent amount of salt and sarcasm directed towards MS in this thread it seems. I've got mine pre-ordered and am quite looking forward to it. I love my PS4 Pro, and Sony no doubt has the larger volume of exclusives pumping out right now, but it isn't some utopian haven of amazing games either if you ask me. For me personally, I have more of an attachment to franchises like Gears and Halo than I do to Uncharted and God of War (though I did quite enjoy Horizon and Last of Us).
I'm sure Phil Spencer's working hard behind the scenes -now that Scorpio is on its way- to shore up the games situation. This isn't the Mattrick-led Xbox division any more. He himself (Spencer) has conceded that mistakes were made early in the console's life cycle and prior. The games I've spent the most time in this gen are multiplatform, and with an OLED TV I've appreciated the fidelity that the Pro has been able to churn out. Now, the hardware advantage will swap over to MS for a time, and I'll be likely playing those titles over there.
As someone who had the original Xbox on November 15th, 2001 when it launched, I'm excited!

I managed to get in on pre-order stock for the Scorpio Edition at the Microsoft store in Chinook.
Being on the hardware beta, I already know it's a worthwhile upgrade for me. [shrug]

I have over $400 in EB credit so I pretty well have to get my Scorpio from EB and I went to two locations and both sold out. I'm not exactly sure why I still can't pre-order a console as I don't even care about the launch edition. Just put me in the queue for crying out loud.

I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you were dead set on the Scorpio edition. They'll have tons of the normal version at release, we are still months away from release.

That's what I thought, but it appears this thing is a catalyst for quick sales. The X1X and Switch will be hot settlers at Xmas I would imagine.
