There were also a lot of rumors some players were given upwards of 200k to play this season. Which is more than fair considering how popular the show is to this day. It's probably much cheaper to produce Survivor than your average sitcom or drama.

So is this the end for so many of these players or might we see a few of them one more time for an all legends season? Richard, Rupert, Rob, Russell, Tony, Sandra, Tyson, Pavarti, Colby, and some newer players like Dom and Devens. Maybe for Survivor 50?

Kind of a shame we didn't get to hear from any of them after the show because of the COVID world we're in. Likely won't hear from the majority of them ever again. Too bad...

I sort of wonder if this is the end of the old school? I'm not sure the old school players would resonate and get great ratings.

I think for most of the players here, this is the end of their journey with survivor, I can't see Richard or Rupert or Sandra or Pavarti or even Tony doing another run. they're getting older and the game really does take a toll.

I still think that it would be a lot of fun to do a redemption survivor. Take a bunch of people that were voted out first and let them play.

Or just fill the island with the biggest aholes and let them fight, not a hero verses villains. But an all out over the top battle royal of scum and villainy .

Richard wants to play again, 100%. I watched his Youtube videos and he is desperate to get another chance to play (as is Russell). They both have such massive egos thinking they're the two best in the history of the game. Would love to see them both in action one more time where surely they would be booted early on.

I dunno if Richard will ever get the chance, though. After embarrassing Survivor with ducking reporting his first win, and him basically being a walking sexual harassment suit waiting to happen, I can't see Survivor brass taking the risk on putting him back on camera.

Yeah, if they weren't bringing back the original winner for an All-winner season, he's not coming back.

Richard won’t be back. Not with what happened last season. If the Dan stuff doesn’t happen, I do think he was cast for this season.

From what has been reported

Richard- cut
Tina- cut
Vecepia- not invited
Tom- cut
Aras- declined
Earl- declined
Bob- not invited
Cochran- declined
Chris/Tommy- cast was decided before wins

Assume most others weren’t invited for their own reasons, those are the confirmed ones though.

Wow Tom was cut? Where did you read that? Tom was one of my favourite players. I’m not sure his play style gets him very far now which is why he was cut... but I’d still like to watch him. I get Cochrane, he’s got it made in the shade with his writing gig. I don’t think k j know who the rest of those people are lol. Tina was the one who got the bitter votes and robbed Colby...

Probst hates Brian. He was cut from All Stars for reportedly asking for a stipend to play All Stars, and had some issues post survivor like shooting a puppy with a bow and arrow and the whole porn thing, he was apparently considered briefly for Heroes vs Villains until Jeff said “no way, not doing it”.

One of the most dominant winners but also one of the ####tier people. Definitely didn’t get the invite

I also saw a video where Probst said Tom was in the mix, I think he would’ve been the male alternate after Richard was cut. He is getting older and also is not in good shape (lung issues from 9/11 and also looks a bit overweight now, which I saw on Ethan Zohns Instagram where he had a recent post of a bunch of old school survivors wearing “old school survivor” shirts).

I know Probst is a huge fan of him and he was one of the best winners however with his health I doubt they wanted to risk anything and probably wanted more of a competitive game with all these strategic new school gamebots

It was also ridiculous that the players voted out near the end go to extinction with no tokens and no way to earn any, they shouldn't be at a major disadvantage to people who had been there for weeks. They should have let the voted out players keep their tokens instead of having to gift them then made it way harder to earn more. At the same time people still in the game should have had more opportunity to earn and something worthwhile to spend them on.
I was thinking they should charge EoE rent. So every 5 days or whatever you have to pay a fire token. Can't pay? You are out. It would keep them really motivated, and prevent the first eliminated from accumulating.

Oh man, now this idea makes me really want to run with the survivor economy idea... maybe every one starts with 5 or 10 fire tokens. You have to pay for lots of things. Like at tribal, it costs a fire token to vote. Don’t have a token, then you can’t vote. You could also choose not to vote to save your token that night. Or extort your ‘allies’ to pay for your vote. Maybe every individual immunity has an opportunity to spend a token for an advantage. Want to see your family? Two tokens. Want a clue to immunity idol? Three tokens.

Probably too big a change, but I find the idea amusing.

Woah

In a true economy, a person trips and falls during a challenge and Jeff asks if they want medical to check them out. When they agree the medic asks for a couple of fire tokens before he does anything because he ain't running a charity clinic.

I would definitely like to see EoE expire at top 10, or even the merge (if sooner). It should never be as powerful as dropping in at top 5 (6) with advantages.

Either way it was a great season, it would have ruined it for me if the EoE person won, but Tony got his landslide vote and I did enjoy Probst even throwing that in there, saying in a season of dominant players Tony still had a dominant win.

I am a little worried we aren't getting a lot of polarizing players in these new school casts.. but you have to keep fishing if you want to catch the trophy.

So, they did some Ponderosa videos for this. They are both pretty long, though the second one has a 12 minute "Sandra-fest".

There's no doubt that Tony played an amazing game. Nat turned EOE into an advantage with all of the stuff that she was sending to other players.

But I think that Michele was pretty determined and I think she did some pretty decent things.
I agree, I though Michelle play pretty hard for the last 7 or 8 votes, slipped by a couple times when she shouldn't have, was always aware of where she stood even though she was on the outside, won when she absolutely needed to, to protect herself. No question she deserved to be sitter where she was.

I actually don't get all of the Michelle bashing, and the people talking about how someone like Sarah is a strong player. Through 3 seasons of her she has taken only two paths, sidekick or bonehead decision. One knock, Sarah, Ben, Jermey, Denise should all have against them is that they never took a shot a Tony, from dayone I couldn't believe they would let someone with as much energy as Tony stay in the game.

I know that Sarah "deserved" to be in the top three, but I didn't think her game was on the level of the other two in the top 3. And that whole Lucinda gender bias thing is still cringeworthy days later. If what she said was true a lot of the woman that have won wouldn't have been viewed so highly in survivor lore.

Sandra, Amber, and especially Pavarti, go back and watch her season, I'll wait. She was a cut throat machine, and nobody called her a bytch. She was pretty much given hall of fame status in the game for the Black Widow play.

Amber played a ruthless game but a calculated game, Sandra really played a nasty game at times, and I don't recall anyone talking about her in a divisive.

The only woman that ever got the whole bytch treatment that I can recall was oppengrupenfurher Jerry (Remember her, that nick name was given to her on the Survivor sucks site) But Jerry I think it was Mathis was absolutely ruthless, rude and nasty and was called out for it and she reveled in it.
