Plus, he's from Connecticut, so it's close to home regardless of whether he's playing in New York (NHL) or Hartford (AHL).

I'll be looking at who I think our 40 guys to watch.

Here is the first group of ten headlined by Greg Carey and Austin Czarnik.

all promising D prospects or already established NHLers under 25. Good luck getting an opportunity there.
Its not like any other team has weaker defense list than that and they won't all stay in the organization anyways.

It seems the general consensus is that this is a pretty weak year for college free agents.

Also I can't name the source, but I am told that the Flames have an interest in Noel Acciari if he decides to go pro at the end of the Friar's season.

Mark Divver ‏@MarkDivver Mentioned to Brian Burke last night that PC's Noel Acciari is his kind of player. His response: 'I've heard that. He plays the game mean.'

Flames snag a free agent to AHL deal:
Mark Divver @MarkDivver
Brown winger Garnet Hathaway agrees to AHL deal with Abbotsford for rest of this season and next. Had interest from multiple teams

Hathaway previously attended the Bruins and Penguins development camps.

The fact that he couldn't score an NHL deal seems to imply NHL teams don't think he is worth a spot on the 50 player reserve list yet.

Hathaway has at least some size to him - 6'2", 212lbs. Was also ranked 110th by central scouting in 2010.

http://www.brownbears.com/sports/m-h...ay_garnet_61uu

I wonder if his lower totals this year vs last year was a reason he wasn't able to find a contract. Seemed to be progressing well until his senior year. I don't follow the team, so no idea if he lost some better line-mates, or battled through nagging injuries.

Season Games G A P
12/13 33 6 15 21
13/14 31 6 9 15

Canucks sign RPI Sophomore Mike Zalewski.

http://www.rpiathletics.com/news/201...314141446.aspx

Two graduating Seniors from RPI have signed AHL deals. Brock Higgs joins the Sharks AHL franchise (Worcester) and Guy Lebeouf joins the Islanders AHL team (Bridgeport).

Any intel on Luke Curadi? He is also with RPI, he has plenty of size at 6'5, 265 and just finished his junior year.

He was also teammates with Johnny Hockey in Dubuque (He is #5)

The intel I have is that he bears a striking resemblance to Mike Commodore

THN has Greg Carey at the top of the list. There is some speculation that he and his brother Matt will try and sign as a package deak.

You can take Mike Zalewski off of the list, he was signed by the Canucks in the last few days
