I think Chernobyl was better executed than Band of Brothers, but half the episodes will lower the degree of difficulty on that. Band of Brothers had a better overall enjoyment level just because it was a wider range of events while also executing everything at a high level.
I will absolutely watch Chernobyl again, but I don't think it will have the re-watchability of Band of Brothers just because it's so heavy.

Its pretty much the heaviest, most depressing show I've ever seen.
Its brilliant....but it isnt exactly a 'Feel-Good Family Thrill Ride.'
Are you feeling good today? This show can fix that.

I hope this doesn't sound too hyperbolic but I think this TV mini-series will go down as some of the finest television ever created
I don’t think that’s a hyperbolic statement at all, I fully agree. As others have mentioned I think it’s Band Of Brothers and Chernobyl as a 1a/1b duo as the greatest television productions ever.

Nothing has ever made me, ever, in my life, ever, made me care about chemistry.
From hours of Wikipedia, Google searches, and in depth discussions with two very well regarded chemistry professors, I have a decent understanding of how nuclear power works.
Lots I still don't understand (I still don't get how the reaction starts, nor why they can't reverse engineer uranium-235 to uranium-238).
Also as someone who has organized events on a decently large scale, what when into the disaster is fascinating.
As someone that has worked in upper management, the complete ship show of lies and refusal to attack the actual problem is mind bottling.
The HBO podcast with Craig Maizin is great.
I also like most of Watch Mojo's top 10 lists. Their one on Chernobyl is concise and to the point on 10 things in the mini-series that were factually true or false.

Just finished Chernobyl. Amazing. The final episode was just awesome, and I feel like a nuclear reactor expert after watching the court room scenes. The montage at the end was great too. A heartbreaking story all around, but HBO couldn't have done it any better.
From beginning to end, it's a treat.
