What we do have here is a loyal base of fans who WILL come to the games. We came for the sorry Phantoms for 5 years. I can't wait to see this building with a good team....dare I say a playoff team!

We anxiously await the announcement of the press conference today for Thurs or Fri. Can't wait for the Name/Logo and for tickets to go on sale.

I didn't expect much to change between Abbotsford and Glen Falls in terms of TV broadcasting since the cities seem very similar in terms of being in the shadow of a big city so close by. It would be nice though to one day see the AHL teams have similar TV coverage of that in the NHL. That being said, I saw something that Glen Falls has an independent station WNCE-CD, so I wonder if there is a probability that much like the Heat did with Shaw this year that they could have a small series or something on that channel. We had HEAT TV up here, would be neat to see if something similar catches on down there.

Then again, it does appear that getting a fan base IS NOT going to be one of the issues for the team in Glen Falls. And hopefully you guys are a little easier to get merchandise shipped to other cities. This was a HUGE downfall for the Heat. I'm only one province away, 10 hour drive and I could not get any team merchandise directly from the team itself. They had no online store and looks like they only had limited sizes/options (if any as most times they had nothing) for the Flames store and AHL shop. Trying to get myself a Heat jersey has been a painstaking process. I might have an easier time trying to jump one of the little guys on the team and take their jersey.

Still can't get over $200 for goalie pads. They are missing a zero. And then another $200 to get the trapper and blocker. If any of the guys were a right catch, I'd be so set.

Someone is reporting on the Heat Facebook page all game worn jerseys are $150.

Really good I can't actually be there. I'd just be signing my paycheque over to them.

Well, I made it to the sale. By the time I got in the door the game worn jerseys were pretty much picked over by the season ticker holders who got in early. Of players that may make the Flames one day there were jerseys for Klimchuk, Kulak, Ferland and Sieloff, the rest were of players on AHL contracts. I bought the Klimchuk road jersey and considered myself lucky, and added a nice Heat polo shirt and custom fit hat.

Surprising how busy it was, considering the attendance over the years. Ryan Walter was there talking to people - I wonder what his future holds? I thought of myself as a piranha, helping to pick the Heat bones clean with a hundred other piranhas - bit of a morbid thought but at least I made a good effort to get out to some games and support the team. I wonder how many of my fellow fish did that?

And so I guess for all intents and purposes thus endeth the Abbotsford Heat. Long live the Adirondack Flames!

PMM sorry about the loss of the team but as you put it earlier when Barts came down …..don't look at the team leaving as a demotion look at it as an opportunity …like Barts why would he be upset set a million plus to an AHL salary you really have a handle on things you will adjust to AA hockey where ever it is …..go boy go
