To be fair you have to question the people involved in the decision making when the master plan to pay back an $80 million loan is street parking revenues surrounding the arena.

They were on their way out.

Katz timed it perfectly. The council rubber-stamped a crappy deal and dropped the mic.

I would rather have the Flames move than give in to the owners demands like Edmonton did to the Oilers. Katz is a piece of #### greedy ####. After he got all that taxpayer money he turned around and bought a 100 million$ mansion in LA.

Front page of NHL.com today:

https://www.nhl.com/news/ken-hitchco...on/c-302385460

"Hitchcock's culture change paying early dividends for Oilers - McDavid, others endorse more defensive system of coach which has translated into victories".

They're 2-2, which includes a 5-2 spanking from the worst team in the league.

As usual, the league going out of their way to try and pump the Oilers' tires, even when they're awful. Can't have any negative press about their golden boy McLotteryball.

You clearly haven't seen the explosive video, with damning evidence that the Oilers did not lose that game, merely the refs won it.

Gene Principe showed a hilarious graphic last night pumping up RNH.
He has the same amount of assists as Johnny and Kucherov, all 2011 draft. That puts him in elite company.

No mention of games played though.

They have scored 6 regulation time goals in four games since Hitch took over, and half of those were in the game played the night he was hired where he didn't join the team until shortly before game time.

How long is McDavid going to put up with that when his shot at another Art Ross is in jeopardy? I guess as long as he's the one getting the points on the few goals they score, he'll be okay.

What the hell is the Identity line anyways? A group of slow players that were being walked all game? That's certainly the identity that the Oilers want to bring to the table.

And Poolparty, did he ever look awful against Dallas. He was pushed off the puck so many times, and his line got hemmed in so many times you could see Hitchcock fuming a few times (one of the main reasons why McLellan got fired is because he was not playing him).

One line team with no signs of ever changing. Even Hitchcock knows that the only chance of a win is to have both Draisatl and McDavid together and hope the other lines don't screw up too bad while they are off the ice.

Johnny is only 20 points back of RNH right now for their career totals (RNH had 132 before Gaudreau played his first NHL game).

If they both play 82 games at their current scoring pace, by the end of the season, the gap will be less than 10.

I'm just realizing that "McDavid, others" is about as perfect a description of the Oilers as I can imagine.

That is not likely to happen. Nugent-Hopkins may have played at near a point/game clip in the early part of the season, but he has never eclipsed 56-points, and has not crested 50 in four years. He has 6 points in his last ten games. Gaudreau will pass him in career production before the end of the year.

I for one am a huge fan of the angle Oiler fans are taking that the league is out to get them. I have been perpetuating it with every fan I get the chance to talk with.

It make for good salt. If I could bottle it I would call it "Orange Conspiracy Salt", It has a distinct flavour from the "why are we so bad" salt, or the "our coach sucks" salt, its got some je ne sais quoi... must be the false hope.

But but the Troglodytes in the broadcast booth thought that Poolparty was awesome with his skating with his head up, and his form when he shot the puck three feet wide of the net and his cross overs that were almost McDavidesque.

Edmonton has 6 regulation wins in 24 games so far this season. Fewest in the Pacific division

Inspiration hit and I had to hammer this out:
