I have actually liked Pinder taking him to task on a few discussion, since he moved to the afternoons.

Wills can be a tad annoying in PBP, but he at least keeps up with the play.

I loved hearing from Maher the other day, but did he always interrupt his cohorts like that? He never seems to let others finish a sentence.
Duly noted.

You’re correct.

Fence sitting for him is considered an edgy take.

He is employed by the team, so I understand his aversion to risk. I just wish he would/could create a narrative with a little more value, insight, or context about the Flames with his behind the scenes knowledge.

But I don’t think he’s bright enough to do that, or he would have already.

The only guys on calgary radio who have the stones to actually have a take that is even moderately critical of the players or organization are Pinder and Warrener.

Boomer sometimes.

Then at the bottom and in the "never rock the boat" category are Steinberg, Wills and Loubo in no particular order.

All that said, I still just put a record on and mute the broadcast when we get oilers or nucks commentators.

That other board has a hilarious value of McDavid thread. Oiler fans: McDavid is worth more than Matthews, Nylander, and Marner. Leafs would still have to add.

It’s nice to see Kevin Lowe back on there spouting off about other franchises wanting to swap rosters.

I actually agree with this, McDavid is certainly worth more then Joey Mathews Alex Nylander and Silas Marner

People have brought it up a few times, but this idea that McDavid would somehow net a return similar to the Eric Lindros trade is preposterous. Unlike the NHL in 1992, it is a capped league today and young, skilled players are more valuable today than they have ever been.

No doubt, McDavid would bring back a tonne of good prospects, picks and/or players. But Oilers fans would be universally underwhelmed by the return.

There will never be another trade like the Lindros trade. Not ever.

Duschene trade isn't far off. Sakic raped Ottawa on that trade and will have a lottery pick this year to boot.

Hers was best because she had the nads to call it what it is and Doug MacLean was too chickensh*t to agree.

Did she lose her job for that? She said it at a time when Toronto media was circle ****** to mcdavid and Edmonton. If she said it now, I would think she would still have her job.

You can’t be serious. Lindros returned Steve Duchesne, Kerry Huffman, Ron Hextall,Mike Ricci, Pete Forsberg, #25th pick in 1990 (Chris Simon), two more first round picks, $15 m.

Yeah, the Duchene deal was not remotely close.

That’s not totally fair IMO. Loubo was critical of Hamilton in a caller show after last season.

This trade is one of my favourite NHL moments. Mind blowing return.

The offer from Philly was even more bananas, but the league agreed and squashed it.

“Sergei Nemchinov, Tony Amonte, Alexei Kovalev, James Patrick, either John Vanbiesbrouck or Mike Richter, multiple first-round draft picks and $20 million”

On deploying Connor McDavid

“His recovery rate, cardio-wise, is astounding. He’s able to get back up to speed quickly on the bench. That’s something we’ve got to take advantage of. He can come out every second shift if it stays 5-on-5.

“My focus is going to be on building his game from our end, out. He needs to have the puck more, as do all of our centres, because that’s the strength of the team.

“I think we need to find ways to get them the puck more, deeper. That’s going to be the focus starting tomorrow at practice. Understand the value of playing inside the dots. Your touches are usually double. That’s what we want to do, is get way more touches for our whole centre ice (corps).”

Translation: we don't have defencemen who can make a pass to our forwards.

Well, didn’t take him long to realize how absolutely useless everyone else on that team is!
