CNN has a place where you can enter the races you’re interested in for updates on those. For example, you could indicate the following: president, Ohio, Michigan Texas, Florida, South Carolina, and Arizona.

Deep Left seems like a combo of the Deep State and the Left.

For those keeping track the number of people who voted before Election Day was more than 100 million.

https://electproject.github.io/Early...20G/index.html

As I’ve mentioned the true number is undoubtedly higher and perhaps significantly so as tracking lags actual votes, and in just about every state mail ballots can still arrive today (and in many others it can arrive after Election Day and still be counted.)

At this point the irony of turnout is the GOP has to be hoping for a high turnout election. If turnout is only 140 million they are well and truly screwed.

And conservatives aren’t on the cusp of a nazi regime.

The general hyperbole and inflammatory terms are thrown towards the right far more.

People were campaigning hard against George W, Clinton and of course Obama. When Barack won in 2008 I felt like that was a historical moment just based on the race issue alone.

I'm the furthest thing from a Trump supporter, and I think that his social policies, in particular, are the polar opposite of what I personally think. His "handling" of Covid has been a mess. His inflammatory rhetoric has certainly emboldened other racists and bigots. All that said, I don't know if my dislike of these things and the candidate makes it more historic than say 2016, 2008 or most of the other elections I've seen in my lifetime?
Maybe you don't feel anything special because we have had some historic elections lately.

First black President.
First woman President Elect (heavy favorite to win too)
First Criminal Enterprise, Trump Family, about to be booted out of the peoples house.

This has been just a brutal election cycle. A brutal four years. There has not been a political or cultural norm in the country that Trump has not managed to at least take a piss on, and then others he has completely destroyed. I honestly don't think people know what is up for grabs in this election. If the United States slides any further toward authoritarianism the impact to the rest of the globe will be immense. The loss of freedoms will be felt around the globe.

I hope that as Americans take to the polls they remind themselves this is not just about defeating Trump. This is not just about tossing Cheeto Mussolini out in the street. This is about removing the likes of Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State; Steve Mnuchin as Secretary of the Treasury; William Barr as Attorney General; Wilbur Ross as Secretary of Commerce; Alex Azar as Secretary of Health and Human Services; Ben Carson as Secretary of HUD; Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education; Mark Meadows as Chief of Staff; John Ratcliffe as DNI; Andrew Wheeler from the EPA; and so on and so on. This is a vote to cleanse the system of these people who work against the very departments they are supposed to oversee.

The stakes have never been higher, so I hope the American people get this right. Unfortunately I always come back to Churchill. "Americans can always be trusted to do the right thing, once all other possibilities have been exhausted." I hope they have finally exhausted all other possibilities, but I don't think they have.

Oh I agree that the Conservatives aren't on the cusp of a Nazi regime. I wasn't a Sheer fan, but I didn't think he was on par with Trump. In terms of politically I was thinking if not for Trump then we wouldn't have had Bernier break off and start his own party.

I also think it's hard to argue that the Liberals are deep-left when you have two major political parties to the left of them. Although, in fairness, Captain is arguing one politician and one staffer. But the staffer's from Glace Bay, I mean c'mon!

Spoiler!

It’s almost as if it’s an exercise in futility to try and pigeon hole every political policy or group into a label based on where they land on a vague spectrum that we made up without realizing how divisive it is. When we hear someone like Trump using these terms to rile up his supporters you’d think most people would have got the message and moved back to focusing on the actual issues, unfortunately most appear to have opted to double down on it instead.

I seriously never expected that to happen, totally thought she'd be gone within months.

You could be right with this. The last two democratic candidates were absolutely historic in my view, so that probably colours things for me. Not every election can be historic, otherwise it starts to lose it's meaning, I guess?

Anyway...we might still see our first woman president. Not to get too morbid, but the actuarial tables for a 78 year old male in the US shows at 43% chance of dying this year. Perhaps the phrase "one heartbeat away" for a VP to become President has never been so true.

I'd say the same to you, if you don't think that Gerald Butts throws out a lot of misleading and straight up hyperbole with his accusations that the Cons are worse then the Nazi's and worse then Trump you're fooling yourself. McKenna is very much from a similar school of thoughts as well as others.

There is absolutely an alt-right, but I see it being universally condemmed in this country, and its as far as I see pretty fringe, and the only party with any kind of presence is it is the PPC.

They need to be pushed aside as much as possible.

I think the average life expectancy of a US man who is already 78 is 9 years.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5624986/
the average dementia-free 70-year-old male had an estimated 26.9 % (SE = 3.2 %) probability of developing dementia
