4th Street Rose was one of my absolute favourite places back in the day.

I miss the "yard" at the old hospitality inn as well as botneys.
Papa Dan's wayyyy back in the day at market mall.....schooners were 3 dollars......and sailers steamer hot dogs.
Then Mortal coil in Mission....and 4th Street Rose, wildrose.
The old peanuts pub. The fox and firkin on electric Ave as well as some of the other divey pubs down there.
Rock City at the Stampeder Inn.
I miss allot of live music venues that are long gone as well. Frankie and Johnny's, livewire, the shamrock, and many other strewn all over the city.
Great list. I used to be a regular at the Fox and Firkin, I also remember drinking at the Tower, even though it was way Miami Vice for a while before it became fairly metal. I had an epic brawl at the Fox.
Frankie and Johnny's one of my favorite places for live music, a lot of it at the height of hair metal, so every one wanted to be the next coming of Ratt or Poison.
That whole complex in the south was like a shopping mall of sin. Want live music, Frankie and Johnny's, want to see naked girls, peepers, want some coke, the bathrooms in between.
Botney's man I think I saw the Headpins play there once before they got huge.
Rock City, my friends took me for a marathon 11 until 3 in the morning drinking session there for my birthday, we skipped school for the stripper forever day. Drinking cheap $5 dollar jugs of terrible draft, while sitting in
Spoiler!
Gynecology row
. I remember when a group of friends could go to the bar and get absolutely blasted for about $50 bucks.
I remember a bar that opened on Electric Avenue, I think it was called the 60 day miracle or something like that, because it was opened by a guy that inherited some money and expected the bar to go out of business in two months.
Coconut Joes, Banditos, the Rave. You could get all of your tastes satisfied in a two block range.

Has Nanton root beer ever been mentioned in this thread? I was looking to see if it was still available recently.. but probably not for 30 years or so, ha

Loved it! They sold it in the little store at Mount Royal when I was there in the early 90s-

Original location was across from Sir Winston Churchill. And it was called Phil's Ice Cream for years until frickin Phil's Pancake House sued him. It was ridiculous. Dude's name is Phil.

Loved Skateboard Smash flavour.
Yep, and then it moved to Northmount Drive, across from St. Francis, and was renamed Philip's Forbidden Flavours. No clue what happened after.
