Besides being boring, I think this team just isn't very likeable as a whole.

They are getting out played by most teams, who cares if they beat bottom feeders? If you can't beat the best you might as well not make the playoffs

Vladar gave the team a chance to win.
I just hate having a boring and old mushy middle team.
Could they make the playoffs? Of course. But they look far from a cup contender.

In a 3-2 league, if you're the 2 most nights you're going to lose most nights.

Kinda feels like the team has tuned Sutter out.
My personal theory for why we see Lewis, Lucic etc playing so high in the line up is because of some infighting between new comers and Sutter so he rewards/trusts "his" guys. I cant really think of any other reason why.
And personally even though its hard to fault him I feel like it all falls on Treliving. He did best as he could with the Tkachuk/Gaudreau situation. But the expedited re-signing of the 2 new pieces and extending Sutter seems to have us in a catch-22. We have 3 new players we locked up for 6-8 years that dont seem to excel under our coach or get the ice time. Do you let the coach go and waste 3 years of newly extended money? Does ownership even sign off on that?
The new players are all unmovable at the moment. So it cant be them. But anyone who doesnt think theres some serious turmoil going on within this team has their head in the sand. Were backed into a corner here and I dont know the way out but feels like Treliving has over played his had trying to make us on last years level right away and it could cost him his job IMO.

I bet you there won’t be. We’re better off running out Lucic, Ritchie and Lewis for 12-15 minutes a night…. Checks phone, those guys only got 7 minutes of ice time tonight. That is a pleasant surprise and a welcomed change.

Such a weird game, sometimes they looked slow, others frantic, disjointed. You name it, weird game. Meh, boring, smarten up.

Let Vladar go on a run. He's earned it.

The answers are in the room. With a forward group that has an average age of 30, I fail to see what a young 21-24 year old call up from the minors could add that these vets won’t be able to figure out.

There's no board battle or stickhandling Mangiapane can't lose or blunder up. So infuriating.

Is it a 3-2 league anymore? There is like 60 players above ppg, I feel like it is more of a 4-3 league now and Flames are way behind on the goal scoring

Probably stating the obvious but you just have so many under producing forwards. I would say Backlund and Toffoli are the only ones that are meeting expectations. Toffoli gets a lot of flack but the guy scores reasonably enough when given chances. You add Ritchie and Lewis in terms of meeting expectations, and it's not their fault they are being over played.
Ruzicka has been a nice surprise of late.
So that leaves you with Hubderdeau, Kadri, Coleman, Mangiapane, Dube, Lindholm all guys you expected to give you some reasonable production and they are not. They range from being below average to terrible.
I think the blueline has performed reasonably OK.
But the forwards need to product.
Either they have the wrong combo of players, haven't found chemistry or the system doesn't match the skills.
I have no idea which it is.
Sure glad they have their first.

I would like to see the Flames, waive Mackey and recall Conor Zary
Youthful energy is something this team needs.
