The PP finished 10th in the NHL this season, and was #1 in the first round of the playoffs. Seems to me our PP is just fine.

I don't like predictions, but this is the line-up I'd like to see for the next season:

Gaudreau - Monahan - Radulov (or Oshie, if Radulov is not an option)
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik (this line worked well, keep it intact)
Versteeg - Bennett - Ferland (get rid of Brouwer, if you can, re-sign Versteeg for another season)
Lazar - Jankowski - Hathaway (I doubt this is going to happen, as they will not be able to move Stajan or Bouma)

Giordano - Hamilton
Brodie - Stone
Kulak - Engelland (Bartkowski is probably moving on, I am OK with Kulak on 3rd pairing)

Bishop (please sign Bishop, pretty please...)

I'd trade Gaudreau if it was part of a package to bring Tavares here, with an extension in place. Not sure how much the Flames add, but that would be pretty sick.

Tavares
Monahan
Backlund
Bennett
Jankowski
Lazar

Deadly center depth, even if Backlund OR Bennett were included with Johnny.

Hell no to a Backlund for Bjugstad trade. I'm not even a Backlund homer like most here, but that's a horrible trade.

Having your offensive catalysts at center is a better recipe for success than having them on the wing, which has been proven over and over by winning teams. The Penguins can put average skilled wingers up and down their lineup and their centers elevate them.

I would take hurting our left wing to have Tavares, Monahan, Backlund down the middle.

Then you can move Bennett to the wing full time.

Bennett - Tavares - UFA (Oshie/Williams/Radulov?)
Tkachuk - Monahan - Versteeg
Ferland/Jankowski - Backlund - Frolik

Tavares with Gaudreau would be insane. Would rather overpay with other pieces like Monahan and Bennett than give up Gaudreau.

I know we hate him, and don't want to deal with him anymore. For that reason, I want us to acquire Ryan Kesler. The guy may be an ex Canucks goon, but he plays amazing defensively, is an absolute pest, and is solid depth scoring. One of the main reasons I'm saying this is I don't want to have to deal with him on the ducks anymore. He pisses me off.

Of course, every manager would love to acquire a Kesler type player. Just like everyone would love a Tkachuk or a Perry on their team. You hate them as a fan when your team plays against them but that is exactly what makes them great at their jobs.

In some ways, yes. But I can't stand playing against him. He always lights us up and gets under our skin. I'm sure others around the league are starting to feel the same way about Tkachuk.

Can you please sit that young man down and have a chat about not quitting on a play?
It is so frustrating to watch a kid with his talent be so lazy at times.
I, personally would have sat him for the last game.

Only thing I have to add is Tkachuk shouldn't be on Backlund's line next year. Backs is brilliant at what he does, which is shut down the opponent's best line. His lines 0% offensive zone starts is admirable, but that's not why we drafted Tkachuk. He needs to be put in more offensive situations where he can take a few more risks, say on a line with a guy like Bennett. Let a fresh faced rookie (Jankowski) take over the roll of defensive forward, time to take the leash off Tkachuk.
