So went to MemEx and they were skeptical but were able to reproduce my symptoms exactly after they got a Windows drive on it.
Turns out it was the CPU! Which I guess makes a kind of sense, the 4.0 PCIe slot is controlled by the CPU and the others by the chipset. He said it's rare but they've seen it a few times before.
So I had a 5900X for 2 days, now I wait for an RMA. She said I'll be high priority but still, 2 to 8 weeks.

Hah yeah after they saw it was the PCIe slot I left to wait for them to swap it, and he tried a different CPU and it worked, then tried my CPU in another board and it failed there.
Ah well I didn't like that be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 anyway so I guess I have some time to try and decide on something different.

I ordered right when it was available to order online. The CPU I got though was from someone else, my MemEx order never did come through (I cancelled it when I thought I had a CPU).

A late review of the be quiet! Pure Base 500DX case I got for my kid's computer, though it's housing mine currently as I wait for my CPU RMA (since almost all the hardware in it is becoming his after that).
I really like the case, it's nice and quiet and has good airflow. Pretty easy to work in (though my previous case was a gigantic Fortress FT02 so it feels a lot smaller because it is), lots of cable routing ties and even my older stiff power supply cables could be routed through all the intended places with enough room behind the motherboard it's not a huge pain to get stuff flat enough to fit the side cover on.
My motherboard doesn't have any kind of RGB controller but the built in patterns are nice. I moved the top fan to the front after watching Hardware Canucks' review of the case, seems to be fine.
Will play around with some stress testing to measure full load temps but under no load it's as quiet as my FT02 was (and the FT02 had 3 180mm fans on the bottom running slow to feed quite a bit of air but stay silent).
Overall much happier with the case than I am with the Dark Rock Pro 4 cooler.

Welcome to the club. This is the monitor that was posted a while ago from RedFlagDeals back in February-ish, when we were talking about HDR gaming monitors. It’s a great monitor. Make sure you search for S3220DGF on Reddit and follow the instructions for running CRU to tweak the FreeSync range to 52-164Hz to prevent any weird flickering when using it with G-Sync.
Also, buy a DisplayPort 1.4-spec cable if you don’t already have one, the cable in the box is only 1.2.
