Two very good NHL teams.
I don’t care who shot the puck...don’t know any goalie who is stopping the winning goal.

But...

Continue to whine and bitch about Smith.

The worst goal allowed was by Rinne on Sam.

Lastly, TJ had a tough night to put it mildly.

No Smith apologists showing up in this thread, so I figure people are fed up. I would hate him to turn into Hiller for the back end of his career, but it sure doesn't look good for Smith right now.

The market for goalies is weak to empty. Unfortunately I think we are stuck with what we have until the deadline.

Miikka Kiprusoff isn't under contract anywhere.. and is just a few years older than Smith.

They should make it so u can use your coaches challenge video review on blatant penalty’s that go uncalled 🤭

Seriously, what do the preds need right now? They have a solid roster but what is their biggest need? Secondary scoring? Something around Janko maybe?

Make a trade for Craig Anderson or Bobrovsky or even bring in Lehtonen.. a goalie that can at least make regular saves.

Smith made Rinaldo.. look like Ovechkin

I wrote this in the GT

You know if you're going to have challenges to negate goals on missed offside calls or if you're going to use slo-mo video to hand players suspensions on plays where refs don't make a call then coaches should be able to challenge high sticks.

I also think refs should have to come out and face media after games to explain their calls and no calls. I mean I'm sure they'd just say " I missed it " but it would probably make more than a few of them pull their heads out of their asses.

Whoever thinks Smith can get the job done needs to take their rose colored glasses off.

Yes. It's just like when we saw the Flames chasing Matt Murray a few years ago. Of course they'd love to get him, pretty much every team would, but interest or not he's not getting moved.

Missed calls and missed chances were the difference in the game. Clear penalties not called, one of which would have led to a 5-on-3, were inexcusable. And Bennett and Tkachuk managed to miss wide open nets.

On another matter. . . .

I probably won't win back many friends with this, but the amount of griping about and general negging of Cassie Campbell is ridiculous. She may not be Kelly Hrudey, and occasionally gets a bit tongue-tied, but she's competent. Unlike some other commentators who will yammer on on tangents, her comments are generally on point and relevant. The constant string of posts about her making games unwatchable does exponentially more to ruin the game thread than she ever does to "ruin" a broadcast.

Just the fact that we couldn't even challenge Saros pisses me off.

I really want this team to learn a killer instinct. Attack when the other team is vulnerable.

Yeah, sure thing, but do you know any goalie who leads his team to the playoffs with a .880 save percentage?

Peters threw Lack underneath the bus. Hopefully he does the same with Smith. This team is clicking. Smith’s game is unacceptable.

Which ones was Smith supposed to save? Brodie had a rough game and we missed 2 open nets.
