I'm not sure how I slept on this one for so long, but "From" is great. Really enjoying it.
On your recommendation, we started and have now watched both seasons of From.
Wife thinks it's fabulous. I am not so sure.
Twist at end of S2 has piqued my interest again.
We see what S3 brings, when it comes.
So here's a question...I've now watched S01 E1-5 and I'm quite enjoying it. (Ex-restaurant owner, ex-wife was a chef, both kids were as well, so ... I get that part of it.)
The complete frenetic chaos in the first few episodes would probably be somewhat off-putting for my quiet, ex-teacher wife...but if the series settles down somewhat from that frantic crazy start...she'd probably be interested in the people.
So...without spoiling it (if possible) does the pace and craziness settle out some ?
I worked in kitchens for years. I got PTSD watching the show. Some of the noises and pacing were so spot on. Things like the screaming, the "may I" and "behinds", and the sound of the printer going off.
The show varies. Some episodes are cathartic and slow paced. Other episodes are worse than the first few episodes.

Now on to S02 of The Bear -- totally liking the characters, the way the story is drawn (OK, there is a bit of artistic license taken in S01E08 but that's fine). My wife is enjoying it as well, and as someone said, really, it's a story about people.
Well put together and the actors do an absolutely incredible job. No iwonder all the food ends up being eaten, too...it's all real food, and it's really one of the stars too.
Looking forward to the rest of the season!!
(Oh yes...and I've been watching it on "an alternate source".)
Has anyone watched the series Dr. Death? Its a docu-drama. So it is a dramatization of real life, at least season 1 was.
I watched the first season and...while infuriating, it was fascinating and I was familiar with the case for the most part.
I'm now starting S2 which centers on a different Doctor also performing 'miracle surgeries' but I dont know anything about this one, in fact I havent even checked to see if this one is real yet, I assume it is as thats the premise of the show? I'll find out soon enough.

The whole thing about the Dr. Death show is that it reminds me so much of Theranos.
"Magical Medical Miracle"
And theres always that one person who calls BS immediately. I'm like that guy. He was asked a few very important, direct but simple questions and...no good answers.
And you watch the presentation and your 'BS Detector' just immediately hits the redline.

When my kids were young, they loved a series on youtube called Horrible Histories which taught historical lessons with a strong dose of British humour. To this day, they can recite all of the kings of England in order!
Anyways, the comedy group went on to create a BBC show called Ghosts which is available on CBC Gem.
We are 3 seasons in, and it is really terrific. Interesting premise, great characters, and extremely funny. Highly recommended!
Just finished Beef on netflix. That was incredible, really liked it. Unpredictable story, very well written characters, well acted. Ranged from funny to weird to suspenseful to dark. Not easy to pull off.

Steven Yeun deserves every accolade he gets. He was the only reason I watched The Walking Dead for the longest time, and his work in Beef proves why. He has a talent for portrayal of persona and emoting that is unique.
