Their best chance of that was to get the #1 seed. Now, it's highly-unlikely.
The Bruins are either going to be the 3rd or 4th seed, which means they'll face either the 5th or 6th seed in Round One.
The Hurricanes have already won and they'll seed ahead of Toronto (if the Leafs win), so there's no way for the Leafs to be the 5th seed. If either (or both of) Pittsburgh or the Islanders win their play-in series, they'll also seed ahead of Toronto, which would make the Leafs either the 7th or 8th seed.
The only way we'll see Boston-Toronto in the first round is if all three of Toronto, Montreal, and Florida win their play-in series and Philadelphia beats Washington tomorrow and the Bruins beat the Caps in regulation on Sunday. That would make Boston the 3rd seed and Toronto the 6th.
